They're a G1 fans dream. I'd sooner end myself before I'd miss out on the most goddamn G1 seekers in years!

The Siege Seekers are great and I'd even say better figures but goddamn these are the guys I always wanted.

That looks like you removed the silver paint on top of the shoulders and neck parts, and the thighs (upper legs)....?

@mgtron1 swapped the waist and both cannon pieces from a mainline siege megatron onto the netflix megatron since those pieces lack battle damage (I saw the other post where more detail was given)

It gives Megatron that battle-hardened feel. I'm keeping my Siege Megs as my main one as well for that reason, and that I think he just looks great period. Plus, his "Cybertronian" tank...just looks like a tank...LOL.

Agreed. I'm slavish towards the cartoon aesthetic when it comes to certain characters, including these 3. The Siege tetra jet mold is very nice, and so I have the Rainmakers on hand to represent that. Both molds have their strengths, so it makes it a hard call to say which is better.

I figure that had to be the case for the legs/thighs, but it's more about the shoulders and neck part that looks like the paint is washed off.

Siege Megatron does look good, especially when made shiny...

The difference is amazing... it's surprising that Hasbro didn't do this paint job from the start, the Netflix version looks great (amazing even), but I hated the black "scratches"(?) on the chest... and just couldn't justify the expense for just a paint job that I could do myself.. which I finally did yesterday.

The ER should have been a default for silver paint, the "lance" cannon thing is just terrible looking and a step down from the sword/gun from Siege, which is sad, as between Siege Prime and ER Prime, the differences are very solid and getting ER prime was a bit of a pain for the wallet but worth it, as ER Prime is a better version overall (but note that Siege is still an amazing figure on it's own.. but lacks a trailer!).

I wish that they would have done something like that with Megatron... even though my wallet would have kicked me over it.

For the seekers though, the ER are just bad to me... every time I see pictures of them, I feel like someone duct-taped the F15 shell on a brick and I like it even less. I just consider them a nostalgia illusion and look very forward to new versions that will fix everything that is wrong with these. I know that many love them, and great for them, but I just can't see anything but a recycled mold that should have been a LOT better.

So for which is better, to me, the ER seems more like a cheap KO (or badly re-engineered oversized rehash of the classics by a 3rd party) than an Hasbro product, especially after all the great figures that we've had with both Siege and ER. Sure the F15 looks great from the top, but that is it's only good feature. So Siege seekers will be the ones to beat.

I'm not sure this has been pointed out before but I thought my ER Starscream's wing connector was broken because one side had a noticeable line while the other didn't. Note: the left piece where the wing plugs in has it while the right does have the start of a line but no finish.

But then I transformed him to jet mode and the I realized the line was intentional as it followed the line pattern.

It was part of the molding but the right one apparently didn't get the line. I checked and both Thundercracker and Skywarp have the same thing.

It's pretty mundane but thought I'd share it. Oh and if my explanations or pictures aren't clear, let me know.

I'm def in agreement on ER Megatron so far. Aside from that horrendous lance-cannon, and lack of silver sheen, I don't like his headsculpt compared to Siege! I think his chin is too long ...or big or something...! It's just sort of 'off' compared to Siege's mold. I think Siege can pass for both a Cybertronian and Earth tank...much like most of the alt forms in that line. I almost wish they went for a bit more abstract designs to emphasize on the 'alien' feel.

Siege Megatron is based on the G1 cartoon, where as Earthrise Megs seems to based on the G2 comics.

If you’re looking at the website maybe. The listing on BB’s site is just for the leader class assortment not for Optimus. I’d try calling the store you want to pick up from and see if they have Optimus or astrotrain in stock. Because if you order it from the website and all they have is Astrotrain you’ll get Astrotrain.

You must call ahead and ask someone to actually go look at the shelf, not in the computer. If they actually have it, tell them that's the one you want and you'll be making an online order for curbside pickup in a moment. That person will hold it, your order will go through and you'll be able to get him. Without calling ahead, it's a crapshoot.
