So I apparently missed out on this $150 price earlier this year. TFsource currently has him on preorder for $300, but I see China ebay sellers in the $200 range. Assuming the China ebay seller is legit, is it still worth the plunge? Any ideas if they're the real deal or a knockoff?

 

I bought mine original 2 years ago for $260 the entire set, was on 50% discount on showzstore.com

 

hey guys, mine is from the boxset combined. as you know Warbotron makes this spring leveled thingies to secure the combiner port. now, how can i separate the leg when the thing i need to push is way inside his knees?

So I decided to remove all of the combiner tabs altogether. The ports are already tight and I dont need impossible to pull kind of joints. and yes, the boxed version is a high quality KO. The orginal had die cast feet part and it has sideways pivot. the KO doesnt.

 

Heyall, I'm just putting some reprolabels on these suckas -- anyone know what to do with the 10x silver strips with the curved ends? It was fun looking for a while and has ceased to be fun lol.

Also: what's your best solution to putting all Scattershot's stuff on him? (swords/guns/axes/big bomb tube front of his aircraft)

Last: where did you decide to chuck up some autobot stickers?? Especially hard with Scattershot and Strafe I reckon.

This is one combiner I just don't wanna see toon accurate. They just slap him up red with no detail. Maybe the worst art for the entire cartoon?? How Toyworld interpreted the cartoon (via Ox) was perfect. Same again please bartender!

 

Hmmm.. Looks like the giftset version's combined fists are different. The giftset has black and burgundy where as the original release has pure burgundy. Both look good though. I wonder if there are any other differences?

Hey guys, I continue to tweak this combiner (I still really like it)...my latest is a a new head/neck that articulates. I always found the stock head way too small, so I thought I could improve it a bit...

Second pic: up/down articulation. It can rotate L/R, but so far only 20 degrees either direction so I need to work on that

Yes, the head/neck needs to be removed for transformation...unfortuantely it's just too big to fit in jet mode. In fact, this design actually works with both heads installed (so I didn't have to do any modding/disassembly)

Yeah I'm hoping to do that, some way. Generally I post stuff on Shapeways, but with so many people owning 3D printers I'm thinking of going the route of offering files...I'm still investigating. Soon, I hope.

 

I see the feet are different in the 2 shots as well, are they from a different set?

 

So If I am reading this right the giftset version is lacking sideways tilt on the combiners feet now ?

 

That looks magnificent! I'd definitely be interested too if the parts came already painted.
