My read from the T-Beast controversy wasn\'t that they didn\'t pay the artists (although paying them would\'ve been nice) but that the artists may miss out on work with Takara because of artwork in an unlicensed book was used by a 3rd party company to make unlicensed toys.

 

Oh, dang. I always had a gut feeling that deriving a figure from another artist's concept was a bit of an iffy affair, but this is pretty bad if true. Hopefully Takara is willing to overlook this, especially if the artist isn't getting any royalty fees out of the 3p creation.

 

I oddly love this design, unironically.

Well, the artist can rest on this one. The only thing kept from the art is "Starscream turns into a bird".

That said, it does look good. Hope the waist articulation isn't limited.

 

Gawd, this looks incredible.Definitely gonna need this guy. Love the more ferocious headsculpts and expressions.

 

I understand the face sculpt is the closest thing to the artwork, but I still think that would have been the most helpful deviation. If the Starscream MP-44 head will fit, its goin on there, aesthetic clash or not.

Wingspan looks great, so does the overall bot mode profile. After all this time it looks release-ready. More T-Beasts!

 

I kind of hop this company tries to come up with more designs, given there aren't many T-Beast designs. Mega Doragon looks beautiful, but it wasn't a fun figure to mess with. I'd love for this company to tread TM3 Megatron.

 

If my choices for how the bot mode legs are handled come down to the artwork or how the figure turned out I would pick the figure's solution. The bird alt mode in the artwork never looked good to me, and the figure is at least better then that.

 

Thats your opinion, and I can understand where you're coming from, but the bird mode feels like a jet with a bird head and legs attached. I meam really, the back in certain perspectives as I said, feels like the back of a jet. As well as that, the legs don't feel anatomically correct, with them hanging off the side, but it probably won't matter as I think I can still pull off that big leg mode.

Looks awesome, now if I could eventually find a Shapeways designer to make a Rodimus head for Cang Toys CT-Chiyou-01 Ferocious, dx9 ancestrod was not that great IMO.

 

Well, it's Daban. The KO brand of Gundam. And if you follow Gundam, the vast majority of the transformable Gundam with a flying mode is literally squashing the legs and slap a shield to cover the face.

 

Doesnt TT Hongli make KO Gundam kits? so is this a model kit too?
