basic figure is finished. next, detail painting, decalwork and the auxiliary weaponry. i think i'll live fine without the optional LED back-lighting package;
Awesome. Alternatively, blacklight or a blue filter LED works just fine for getting the psycho frame to glow. So instead of rigging the model with lights you just ring up lights around the model.
a Great idea, to be sure, but Psycho-Frame lighting of any kind is pretty-well unimportant to me, as i do not at all care for the RX-0 in "Destroy" or "Unchained" mode, only in this hybrid, 2/3-Unicorn mode that i currently have it in. for the most part, it has a fantastic "NASA/Military Aerospace" vibe about it to me, with just about the most minimalistic, subdued degree of classical "GUNDAM Garishness" about it's basic design of just about any GUNDAM-type MS ever. that alone makes it pretty much easily my favorite RX-series MS of them all...
Wow, that's pretty quick for a perfect grade, meanwhile, it took me the whole weekend just to work on this 1/144
Started on the MG Guncannon last night, assembled and painted its core block. Compared to the GM 2.0s block, this is just a stripped corefighter - there’s still missiles loaded in it! Painted the Kai figure too, though this is not as good a sculpt and the Gundams 2.0s Amuro.
Makeshift gunboy Project: the beginning! that's the easy part... now to find a way to slap in a proper chest and upper arm armor that looks close to the original concept (or 3d print them...) and then some paint....
Core fighter is built, needed much more paint the the 2.0 Gundams. It’s also a lot chunkier, with very underscaled cockpit. This is also my first time painting the canopy frame on anything, and it doesn’t look terrible.
Thanks for posting this! I swung by one of the Hobby Lobby stores around here, and sure enough they had some kits. Not a big selection, and mostly stuff I have already built (they notably had the Moon Gundam though, which is cool), but I did walk away with a Gouf Custom. First kit in a couple of months, I'm looking forward to it.
Started work on the ZZ Ver. Ka. Holy shit, this thing is gonna be positively gigantic. Finished the chest, head, and core fighters tonight:
"ZZ is a powerhouse!!" -Judeau, Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the 1:100 scale in the Miniaturization era.. I reopened the F91 since I couldn't resist working on the RG Eva 01, and because they shared details I needed to paint in orange. **anime accurate knuckle 'spikes' For the F91 this meant repainting the vents on the soles of its feet. Trying to match the plastic color I used some Insignia Yellow, and a couple drops of Chevy Engine Red and International Orange. I may just wind up making a bottle of this since I have other kits which use this color. I had to repaint these parts because my first attempt to detail them messed up my paint. I avoided making the same mistakes this time by filling in the channels around the vents with a Gundammarker and not panel accent like I used on the engraved surface lines. I used what paint I had left and took care of mostly everything I want to paint in this color. Now for the close shave. I completely forgot how the beam shield connected to the shield module itself. So when I assembled the two shield units, I dodged the mistake of cementing the top plates down since I cemented the other layers. Otherwise I couldn't be able to use the special effect part.
Don't know if this has been discussed before, but found the first Z gundam op and ed on Apple music, which is the last thing I'd ever expect. Perhaps the copyright issues are resolved after 35 years
Started decals on the woundwort. Im working off 5 different decal sheets and basically coming up with my own decal scheme. Thats tougher and taking longer than I had imagined. Im trying to have it not look too busy with the decals. Will probably take me another day or two.
Huh. I had been hoping to hear this when I got the blu-ray they released in the US a couple years ago, and was bummed to find it still wasn't there. Great find!
No problem. I had to go back to Tractor Supply next door to the local Hobby Lobby, and I went in to check the placeholders they've got on the dividers. Their inventory seems pretty limited to what you saw and what I found. From the looks of it, the ONLY kits they're selling are the HGUC Jesta, Gouf Custom, RX-78 Revive, Origins Char's Zaku II, Moon, and the RG Crossbone and Wing Zero.
