I have one of those. Sticker instruction sheet. So it's only exclusive to Europe?

Went to a comic shop and got good condition loose samples of Beachcomber, Pre-rub Windcharger, Sixshot missing all his stickers, and a couple mini spies for just $60. I am having a good day.

If you guys wouldn’t mind, could you help me identify which version this is? I don’t know if mine is actually pre-rub. Car and leg details seem crisp, seems to have lighter colours, and there aren’t any evidence of a rubsign existing there (no patches of different colour or stickiness) and finally he’s stamped 1974, 1983, and this leads me to believe he’s late ‘84, but what are your thoughts?

Oh not at all, I think it’s actually mostly a US thing. This Euro store sample is actually a US Dreadwind with US paperwork.

Light red Windy is most likely an earlier prerub from 1984. You can check behind his feet for a lack of Hasbro but only Takara stamp too.

Thanks! He doesn’t have a Hasbro stamp, only Takara.

Oh :D  when I saw some G1 Kickback with that yellow chest I thought that plastic may have deteriorated because was different from the recent reissues. Also his face is always much beautiful ,same for main body colours.

I finally got a vintage original G1 Skywarp. Skywarp was the first full size Transformer I got as a kid, and he has remained my favorite Decepticon ever since. Besides missing his rubsign and a few more stickers he's minty with great joints. He has all his missiles and accessories, and even came with an original vintage sticker sheet. I still have a Toyhax set on the way and will do a thorough cleaning and sticker restoration to get him "assembly line" fresh. Will post more pics once I clean him up.

It's Uriad! This stunning repaint of Dairu came out of its box and was slapped on display, never really messed with it until this week. I loved the first set a lot and this reminds me why. Gorgeous toy.

I still don't understand how this happened and how there is no encore/reissue of the actual cassettes by takara. (Same of course goes for Grand Max etc)

They were gearing up Grand Max for an Encore which is why the shell was available for Fun Publishing, but poor sales of Fort Max scuppered it apparently.

I found some buried treasures while I was looking for a stupid TV remote.

Instructions for Finback, Skullgrin, and Groundshaker. I also have a complete '84 lineup brochure and most of the '85 as well. I even have a mail-in for S.T.A.R.S. and some robot points saved up. I also have a random Grapple head for some reason lol.

I still have most of Finback and Skullgrin. I need to see about restoring them like I did Bumblebee.

Cleaned up my brand new Sixshot in the car with a wet one. And good gravy, he was dirt-ay! There’s still a lot more work to be done before I’d call him clean though. Instead, I realized something incredible.

I think I may be the only one to actually handle him a lot.

He came dirty and incredibly stiff-jointed. He had no stickers at all and was in jet mode (which I believe he was packaged in) without his guns. I think someone got him, either didn’t want him or lost the instructions early, and shoved him in an attic and he remained there for a long time before being sold to a comic shop, where I got him in pretty good condition for $40! $40! Amazing! However, some of his chrome is rubbed off, and his rubsign is torn apart. I dunno.

The white is a little yellowed, but not bad.

As for Windcharger, I don’t know if he has lighter colours, because I don’t own every G1 variant under the sun (ahem, Maz).

Got a couple of new guys for my collection today. A pair of Chibi style jets from Takara released in 1984, not part of Microchange or Diaclone and never released as Transformers. But I definitely think you're the group who'll appreciate them the most.

Chorobo 01 GR-3 and Chorobo 02 F-15, mint in box unused stickers.

    20200617_163843.jpg 20200617_163901.jpg 20200617_163924.jpg 20200617_164058.jpg

Its fun to speculate why these were passed over when Hasbro was desperate to find Transforming toys to port over in the mid-80s, you can't really make a scale argument given the minibots and later Scramble City, I guess they might be too super deformed, but then again if you'll compare Cliffjumper to his equivalent Porsche that's a tough argument too. It would be easy to make a cynical argument that perhaos Hasbro felt that they're just not that good, but for 1984 Chibis they're not really any worse or fragile than the Minibots. My guess would simply be that at just two figures there wasn't enough to warrant a case assortment.

I can imagine these on Decepticon cardbacks at the same price point as Bumblebee and co., but sadly was not to be.
