The first post of this thread dates back to Feb. 2015 with a look of the prototypes. So it's been over five years four months and still no Turbo and Fitor.
Well, it took Action Toys 6 years to release the UM-03 Ultimetal Megatron - Action Toys UM-03 Ultimetal Megatron New Stock Images - Transformers News - TFW2005 - so there is still hope for Fitor and Turbo.
Looks like they showed prototypes again at TFCON 2018. Oh well. TFcon 2018 - Action Toys Machine Robo / Gobots Display Images - Transformers News - TFW2005
It also took them just over 4 years to release their ES-Gokin Dancouga and God Mars after showing prototypes, so still some hope. Maybe.....
Score! I need to pick up a few more GoBots myself eventually. I never had many as a kid and, sadly, none of them seem to have survived...
I may buy a couple more while the cost is relatively cheap. Gokin stuff has gone bonkers in the past 12 months and Machine Robo Rescue seems to be the last stuff to inflate with prejudice.
"There's too many self-Indulgent wieners in this city with too much bloody money!" That's the quote I think of when it comes to collecting. Man I wish Bandai would re-release the original Machine Robo toys in Japan... I'd buy them faster than any Transformer or Macross. I also thought that there was new news on another release. Should know better. Hahahaha.
and i'm still waiting on figures that were actually announced, actually had prototypes, and were even shown painted at various points
Ahhh, this is Hyper Shuttle Robo. This guy has quite the playability because check this video out: To talk about his backstory is quite necessary if you like to know why he looks like Jet Robo/Blue Jet. So I've watched Machine Robo Rescue when I was young and this particular Robo is IN FACT Jet Robo upgraded to work for outer space travel. To explain Machine Robo Rescue,it's like the Guardians vs Renegades from Gobots. We got Machine Robo Rescue who have three teams - Red Wings (consisted of flyers),Yellow Gears who consisted of underground vehicles like Drill Robo and Sub Robo and Blue Sirens who are police oriented. Then we have Disaster who are basically consisted of Goro-goros who are orbed MOTW but they also have their own brand of Machine Robos re-decos. BL Drill Robo (think Screwhead),BL Police Robo (think Crasher but BL Police is a dude and his team consisting of Cy-kills),BL Fire Robo (I dunno who to compare him to tbh) and Stealth Robo (think Fitor but with a new Stealth bomber form). So it's more of GogoV/Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue meets Machine Robo and Gobots since some stories in MRR feels the same as Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue since I watched PR Lightspeed Rescue when I was young too. ^_^ This took place during ep. 22 - 24 and a few episodes afterwards before the Machine Robo section of Red Wings (which consisted of the flyers of the MRR branch) went back to Earth. Yup,this is a space-centric saga where we see what happened to the main character - Taiyou Oozora who happened to be the only survivor along with his pet dog (more like a brother surrogate considering the sad backstory and that Bon (the dog's name) can actually talk) during a plane crash. To keep it short,an evil robot named Stealth Robo who has a combined form called Hyper Stealth Robo (think Fitor fighting against Blue Jet since this seems like a Gobots reinterpretation but with classic MR-style robots) can fight in space freely while Jet Robo can't work well in space thus, when he crashed into the Earth,it seems Jet Robo basically met his match. This triggered PTSD in Taiyou who recalls the deathly plane crash he can never shake off since young. Later on,they decided to upgrade Jet Robo for space travel and rename him Shuttle Robo with all new space capabilities. Of course, they beat Stealth Robo. After ep. 24,Taiyou would have episodes come to terms with what happened to his parents and fought off his PTSD. The series is written by Machine Robo veteran - Hideki Sonoda so things feel like they got story elements but most episodes tend to be filler like that kid in yellow who keeps getting into trouble and there are 12 kids/Robo Masters which they had to make for character arcs and the like. I can only hope things would get better. We'll just have to wait. I wish that as well. Still,I've recently read news of Masami Obari joining in for a talk with series artist - Nobuyoshi Habara about both Revenge of Cronos and Battlehackers if anyone's curious. This is a watch Gobots and Machine Robo fans have to check out: https://twitter.com/robo1954/status/1288643065901531136 Mecha Alliance
Hoping to get that EM Gokin Blue Jet. You know the one. I still wish everyone can get their Action Toys Fitor and Turbo. Even the Pro Truck Racer,Jet Transer,Tough Trailer were hinted at. :/ Oh and Ambulance Robo too. Let's hope the Machine Robo talks during 16 August 2020 will bring some interest to Machine Robo since it looks like things are coming back from the dead. Wishbone,Beavis and Butthead, etc. I don't even know if these guys by Tamashii Nations were greenlighted: But to meet the same sorry fate like Super Robot Chogokin 2 years before it.
Wow, that toy has a ton of play with the different modes and parts. Plus your story really makes it more interesting. Thanks for sharing!
