So I've seen both the fan toys and the gigapower dinobots sets but honestly I like them both. (Masterpiece scale to go with my collection)

The problem i have is that I can't afford to buy it all at once and it seems already difficult to find all the pieces for at least fans toys. Any advice? Will gigapower be around for a while or anyone know if fanstoys will be rerunning them? I really don't want to mix them they seem like they have very different looks. Or maybe there is a mix that looks reasonable together?

I have both sets (original FT and Chrome Gigapower)

I love both sets for different reasons, so you wont be disappointed either way you go - so taking which is better out of the equation and going purely on availability: -

Gigapower is releasing their weathered versions as we speak - Grassor (Slag) came out max 2 months ago and is still available afaik in a few retailers and defo ebay, Gutter (Snarl) came out max 1 month ago.

If you dont like the weathered look, I would assume some people will be swapping out their other versions (chrome / Metallic) for them so fb selling groups or here the selling board may be your chance to snatch them up.

As you say I believe you can get a few of the FT dinos still fairly easily but I see Stomp (sludge) and soar (swoop) now recently are hard to find.

Conclusion is to get a full set at this stage of the game the easiest is to go weathered gigapower- get the first two releases and then as you mention you want to get them not all at once just follow the natural release dates of the final 3. Hope this helps.

Well that's definitely not a thing, you might get 2 for $400 if they re-release them but there's been no word of it so far. Might have been a different company

I'm hoping that Fanstoys do another release. I've seen a few dotted around eBay but with the high cost it's just too much for the earlier versions. Their Stomp costs more than half a months pay the few that I've seen.

I'd recommend trying to piece together the gigapower wherever you can find them, that's what I ended up doing if you have it in your budget. I wouldn't hd your breath on a fans toys re-release right now

 

As of right now both sets are a pain in the arse to complete

Fanstoys you're gonna be able to get snarl for reasonable money maybe grinder i dont include swoop because who gives a shit about swoop lol sorry, stomp is a joke as is scoria unless you've got money to burn?

The gigapower set are good even those are a bitch to complete, im stuck with a chrome sludge and grimelock i cant find grassor or gutter for shit, unless im paying stupid money which i dont do
Good luck with that pre order on various sites because they've been up for months and months, the metallics are the same sludge gutter and even grassor are a bitch to find imo

you best bet as off now if you want a full set at RRP is go with the weathered if you can stomach the look, i liked the grassor but hate the snarl so im out but if you dont mind i think thats your best bet as of now

its a pretty good stand in that maybe I don't need to complete a all chrome dinobot

 

Thats the Toyworld Dinobot combiner. Not MP scale, fits in with CHUG. Theres also the GCreation Dinobot combiner that is closer to MP scale but not quite except I guess for their Grimlock which has to be the torso bot.

 

Personally, I recommend the chrome Gigapower set if you can get your hands on them. All five look amazing. Realistically though, your best bet is to mix and match the three available versions for a full set (chrome, metallic and weathered). From what I've found, metallic Guttur, metallic Graviter, chrome Guttur and chrome Grassor are the hardest to find. You could always wait for the weathered releases, if you like that style.

If your intent on the Fanstoys set, then Grinder is still easy to find, but the others... Well, you're going to need plenty of cash and patience.

 

I've got a loose Guttur (my first 3p dino) coming in tomorrow, it says HQ-03, not sure which one that is exactly... will post pics when I get my grubby little mitts on it.
