Lol, immediately goes for the low hanging fruit of "Wow I guess some people are too dumb for tactical games"

I do like tactical games, i just said i dont want a Transformers tactical game, if you look at my comment again you'll see that

Yes! A transformers tactics game! God I hope it’s good and they allow lots of modding.

Seeing this really makes me wish I would've played Fall of Cybertron more. I seriously underrated that game. This shit now is atrocious.

Snide comment about being too dumb to understand tactics games aside...

You miss why I don't like those games. I don't want to command units to do things. I want to play as an individual character, in the middle of the action, not just some war god giving orders from above.

Are we sure that the Certain Affinity game is still being developed?

Yeah, I know. I have the ISO, but I'd rather have something current and which is not pirated.

Gee, no thanks... The last time they did, we had what, a decade of terrible anime. I consider the RID_A_E_C era the dark ages of Transformers media. Even during the Bay era we had good cartoons at least.

I think it is. I wouldn't expect more than a battle royal game with the evergreen designs though. If it were a shooter where you could create your own character that would be great. At the very least let us play as characters from different eras.

    I miss Transformers Universe.

It really is nice having the prospect of something more adult in nature out of the transformers video game arena. For too long the cheaply made button mashers have ruled. Hopefully the publisher will put in the time to fully flesh the game out.

I posted earlier on this, but if you check the actual thread for that game, people recently found resumes of Certain Affinity employees saying they worked on "Transformers Impact" so it seems that work is still being done

Exactly we learned nothing meaningful of what genre the game is other than combat based but with Transformers that's to be safely assumed in most cases. There is nothing to indicate how co-op is handled in the game or really if there even is. In short my opinion is this , it is a very ineffective trailer. At most i have taken note of the game in development existing and willwatch for more details but i am hardly excited for it at this point.

    You said:

The entire franchise is intended for kids. The entire franchise, not the original series or the majority, the whole thing. You're shifting goal posts because you got caught being hyperbolic, and are backtracking when the original context of your message was that people shouldn't ever expect anything to be geared at older fans/adults, going so far as to say:

Which practically attempts to discredit the assertion that there would even be anything targeted to older fans, since anyone who's an adult "failed to grow out of it." So all the media and toys geared exclusively to older fans wouldn't exist if it was merely a case of adult fans not moving on from a franchise that has remained consistently kid-exclusive. That's a lie, and a pretty blatantly dismissive one.

So yeah, no, you're saying the same thing that has been said countless times to try (and fail) to excuse lackluster Transformers products because apparently the entire franchise is child-oriented. It's not, and even if it was, kids deserve better. We knew what shit was when we were kids, we knew low-effort garbage pumped out in a few months to make a quick buck. If anything it's the adult fans that would be more apologetic to this game because of nostalgia, as without the hook of "it's Transformers!" it looks like total ass.

The last time Japan got involved they animated TF: Prime which wasn't bad, and ironically while people are complaining about this Cyberverse-inspired game the Armada game was fantastic. Japan's series seemed to target the same audience as RiD and Cyberverse, but the shows were at least more mature in some instances.

If Hasbro allows a Japanese studio to be less restricted with story telling we can at least get a show that's comparable to the most kid-friendly Gundam series. And at least they'e unafraid of hand-drawing robots. Dismissing their entire industry because of 4 shows (or 2 universes) is like saying that America should stop since RiD and Cyberverse were weak.

I'd prefer a game that doesn't play like the Cybertron games because regardless of how good they were the gameplay was generic, right down to clicking R3/RS for melee. I still remember the controversy with the ROTF controls, but I think the gameplay was vastly superior and imaginative.

Looking at the trailer again, this might be the worst reveal trailer I've ever seen for a game. Just 40 seconds of nothing that don't say anything about what the game is about. No premise, no gameplay, no interesting draw or gimmick. Just random character models and explosions. Who edited this, and who approved of it?
