DOTM- I honestly think he's not that bad but someone had to finish last.
ROTF-I like this design, but they could've done better.
    07
AOE-A lot of people don't like this design but I honestly think it's pretty good. I admit I never used to like it but I think it's nice.
    TLK-This is a cool design.

If I had to pick probably ROTF.

That said Megatron in all the movies to me is the poster child for all the complaints people have had about the Bay designs.

Despite the fact the he was treated quite badly and poorly in the film, I have to say that Megatron's design in Transformers: The Last Knight is in my opinion the best movie design for him by far. He just looks so sleek, stylish and he somehow reminds me of the Transformers Prime Megatron and he has all the traits that made him so popular in the first place, that being he was voiced by the legendary Frank Welker, has a bucket looking head going for him and has a fusion cannon mounted onto his right arm. I also love the way his vehicle mode looks, I'm almost tempted to get the Unique Toys Dragoon I like it that much.

I'd say Megatron's design in The Last Knight is probably the most satisfying.

I actually quite liked the head sculpt for the first three movies, but that horrible claw hand looked like a broken Swiss Army Knife. Galvatron... well, nothing about that looked right.

    TLK is my favorite.

Somehow it even manages a working transformation for toys.

The design in TLK is probably the most Megatron-like, with his fusion cannon and when his mask is engaged he sort of has the bucket head. It could definitely be a lot better, that's for sure.

2007 Megs was just ugly, plain and simple. The initial design was garbage and their 'fix' was only a minor improvement. ROTF Megs was better but still suffers from a lot of the issues 2007's has. DOTM is subjectively a favorite of mine because of the hooded hobo with a shotgun look he has, but he's so far removed from the character he's based on from a design standpoint that he may as well be a new character.

Galvatron is tied with 2007 Megs for worst.

    1) DotM: The design is such a unique spin on Megatron. The battle damage, the chains, the cape, the shotgun, the asymmetrical hands, the badass Mad Max alt. mode. It might be the lowest we’ve ever seen Megatron fallen (idk tho I’m not familiar with all lore) and I love it.

    2) RotF: Mostly nostalgia. The tank mode was a cool change of pace from the weird spiky jet we got in the last movie. It’s funny that this version is pretty much seen as the quintessential Movie Megatron rather than the first movie’s design. Plus the lobster claw gun was fucking sweet.

    3) TLK: A nice breath of fresh air compared to the previous designs. The kibbleless knight aesthetic of TLK isn’t something that I’m a huge fan of, but god does it look good on Megatron. His smooth armor is a big contrast from the spike covered designs of previous films, and that sword is so fucking awesome. Plus, he has a fusion cannon on his arm!

    4) AOE: So, Galvatron is a bit of a weird one. He has no kibble, turns into a pristine truck, and does that dumb cube transformation. However, his design has really grown on me. I love the blue and silver color-scheme. You got the grinder in the middle of his chest and the whole “tubular” aesthetic. Many complain about how much of a departure this design was from Megatron, but... that’s the point? He’s Galvatron, a reborn Megatron not held down by his previous battle worn vessel.

    5) 2007: Let’s get this out of the way, I do NOT hate this design by any means. It’s just that I like the others more. He doesn’t stick out to me as much. To give this one credit, it paved the way for all the proceeding designs. I loved Movie 1 Megatron’s ferocity, as well. His creepy Coraline spider fingers and sharp teeth are so over the top and I love it. While I prefer the tank more, his spindly alien jet was also an awesomely weird design.

    1. AOE Galvatron just absolutely atrocious looks like a sumo wrestler that has tried fasting for once and the helm just looked awful and the stupid pixel transformation made me want to perform eye surgery on myself.

    2. Dotm overall the robot mode was pretty boring to look at he just looks like to much of a weakling he's to rusty and looks like a robot from real steel granted the damaged helm was cool but my point stands hobo with a shotgun get's an F from me.

    3. TLK Pretty sound design love the bucket helm Megatron is renowned for having and the battle axe was a nice touch but his mouthpiece looked like a pair of wooly mammoth tusks it looked goofy whenever it wasn't activated and the design takes to much inspiration from prime.

    4. ROTF I loved this design it looked the best Visually and the pincer fusion canon was I loved the tank treads to gave me Armada Megatron vibes which is one of my favourite designs for the character of Megatron in general the t-rex arm was a little weird but the rest of his design makes up for it also loved the jet boosters on his back that looked like a pair of xenomorph eggs.

    5. 07 alot of criticism for this design but I honestly loved it it had the physical imposing might that put all the other Movie Megatron's to shame I actually liked the flail though I think it needs a few improvements to mend it his formattable fusion canon was badass and the huge spiky pedes coupled with the unique thorn shaped helm and the oversized crab claw hands, just looked terrifying to me and it presented Megatron as an absolute brutish force of Tyranny. This had to be the absolute best physical representation of his character out of all the live action films.

AOE- Not a fan of the face, or the "no soul" chest thing. I REALLY hate the tranformium gimmic Galvatron and all the KSI drones had.

DotM- Megatron looks like he'd fall apart if you loosen those chains around him. A chunk of his head's missing and his hoodie just makes him looks like a 12 year old trying to be cool.

RotF- I think the only thing that gets me are those twigs he calls arms. It just looks weird to me. I know it looks better when he has his fusion cannon out, but otherwise, it looks like all his arm's mass went straight to his legs.

07- I just really want to see more of this one. We only got him in the 3rd act, and he was rarely in full shots to really concentrate on him. I hated that the marketing always showed either the inaccurate helmet or the pose with his arms down with that ugly curve they do.

TLK- C'mon, His silhouette alone screams Megatron. It's the only one that doesn't look like a bunch of jagged metal in the form of a man, and his cybertronian jet looks basic enough where he doesn't have his silly head just poking out. It's a bit annoying that they had to integrate the whole knight theme, but still this is the one that make Megatron look like Megatron! And it took them 5 movies!

    5. 2007. EASILY the worst Megatron design. I know some aspects aren't that different from RotF and DotM, but boy does he look flimsy, especially in certain shots when he's just been released from Hoover Dam.

    4. RotF. Much more solid looking than 2007, but I just like DotM Megs, Galvatron, and TLK Megatron more.

2nd (Tie). Galvatron/DotM Megatron. I think they're both great for what they're going for.

    1. TLK. The best. Just wicked looking, with a fusion cannon, knight-like appearance, and a face plate!

    Best to worst:

Dragon concept/TLK - Seems they purposely left the good things OUT of that ugly mess of a movie
ROTF - flying tank and claw hand looks awesome
DOTM - badass but prefer the tank
2007 - transformation looked like an incomprehensible mess to me, animal growls?, getting into all fours?
AOE - extremely generic, fugly, stupid transformation

Yeah, and it’s not like that went away in the next 2 films. He growls when he first sees Sam in RotF. He growls at the elephants for dominance in DotM.

    1. RotF - I have a bit of bias towards this design as RotF had a big impact on me as an 11 year old kid. I like his tank tread feet and his huge arm cannon. The scene with Megatron returning to the Nemesis is one of my favorite scenes from the movies and he really felt powerful when he was threatening Starscream.
    2. TLK - While the jet mode isn't very memorable, the robot mode is FANTASTIC. He looks menacing and imposing and is a great update to his original G1 design in the Bayverse style. His sword-axe fit the knight theme well and his fusion cannon was well-integrated, if a little small.
    3. DotM - The Mad Max inspired truck form was an awesome design choice. It's a unique take on Megatron and is a nice parallel to the clean semi truck form of Optimus Prime. Unfortunately, Megatron didn't end up doing much in the film.
    4. AoE - As a huge Galvatron fan, this design doesn't exactly live up to my expectations. I still like the design but aside from the glowing orange chest nothing really sticks out to me.
    5. TF07 - Definitely the least memorable design. Considering I think they did a good job reinterpreting Optimus Prime's design for the first film it's a shame that Megatron ended up the way he did. It's not a terrible design, he just looks like a generic movie-monster.

    Least to best

2007 : Least of my favorite design for movie Megatron, I don't like the amount of holes that goes through his armour. But I think this works as a protoform body because of just how generic it looks. The hand turning into a flail is a saving grace.

DOTM : Works well for a beaten up Megaton, the tarp that covers his face is a nice touch because he can cover his shame and his wounds. Plus,he is a hobo with a shotgun what's not to like?

ROTF : An improvement over his 2007 design. More well defined and solid looking armour and tread feets that look amazing. I used to hate the big lobster hand and spindly arms he has but I've grown to like it.

TLK : Knight armour, arm mounted cannon, face mask, threatening face and an axe sword. Everything about it looks cool, the only reason it's not number one is because how underused Megatron was in TLK.

AOE : Yup this is my favourite design for Megs even though it's called Galvatron. Just the look of this guy tells you he is not messing around. The demon horns look appropriately menacing and that face is beautiful I don't know why but I like it, I guess it fits his menacing demeanor. The combination of silver and blues around his sleek body just works. I love the hole in the chest that basically taunts his opponents how he has no spark to destroy. Considering that Megatron design this body for himself no wonder he made it look so awesome.

The movie is unpopular not Megatron's design. Have you looked in this thread, most people have him at number 1 or at least in the top 3. The cannon does look better than the ones before it since he's literally the only one who actually has an arm mounted cannon in the first place.

2007 brings his arms together to form a cannon out of nothing.

RotF, his right arm IS a a cannon. It's not mounted to his arm, it IS his arm.

DotM has a hand held riffle.

AOE has a cannon that forms out of thin air around his forearm.

TLK is the only one with a legitimate arm mounted cannon.
