I wish I had that Aliens Dropship but I did manage to get the Narcissus from Alien really cheap years ago. It goes for quite a bit these days. Here's some pics of it with my Diaclone and MFT stuff. I just got the Mammoth VP-01 in the mail yesterday too, so you'll see that a bit in the background of these shots.

Somewhere someone posted an old micro machine or something bunker that was pretty much Diaclone Scale. I can’t find what it’s called for the life of me.

Could have been one of the Micro Machine Military playsets? Also I've seen some sort of mountain base playset from Thunderbirds that people have used for Diaclone.

Tracy Island from Thunderbirds isn’t really the right scale but it would make a fun backdrop.

Tracy Islands have been made in several sizes over the years - but since it's an island - yeah it's likely not in scale ; some manta force stuff would work size wise but the level of detail is a bit wrong.

Hex Bug tracks might perhaps make an OK layout surface for a moonbase prop I suppose.

Have you guys seen Snap Ships? It's a building system made of spaceship parts - very 'Wing Commander' looking.

Anyway, they're nearing release, and their pilots look to be very similar in size to Dianauts. (I think Snap Ship pilots are 2.5cm to a Dianaut's 3cm)

I haven't gotten mine yet, but when they arrive the first thing I'll be checking is if Dianauts fit in the cockpits. The second thing I'll be checking is to see if the snap connectors are 3mm or 4mm Diaclone compatible.

I remember hearing about them earlier this year. It would be awesome if dianauts are compatible with the builds.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to checking them out when they finally arrive.

Doubly so if the snap connectors can somehow work with the Diaclone ports.

Even if they don't out of the box, I'm sure someone will make port adapters and put them up on Shapeways or something.

Well you just opened the flood gates on me. I hadn't heard anything about this line. Totally my kind of toy line. Definitely want to get some of these.

Yep, I confirmed it with the designer. The cockpits open, the pilots fit inside.

What really pleased me is how reasonably priced they are.

The most expensive set (the gorgeous two-man dropship) is only $40.

Yes! And to clarify what I meant by collaboration, I believe he just did the box art and wasn't involved in the actual product design. Still awesome for him though!

I remember when those Snap Ships were first being shipped around. I guess they dropped the whole 3d printing aspect. Any clue when those are out, because that dropship looks really nice.

It looks like they might be available now on the PlayMonster website: Construction Sets

You can add them to your cart.

*Edit* I went ahead and ordered a couple sets. Also found a coupon code (MONSTER25) which basically gave me free shipping on the order. Can't wait to find out if Dianauts work with these.

Worst case scenario you'll need to sand a small amount out of the cockpit area for a Dianaut . Having a ready built opening canopy makes it worth whatever extra effort you need to make the sitting area perfect (assuming one has a Dremel).
