The graphics are as bad as on mobile

 

Well this looks totally like that cancelled game with made-up new characters where you also had to fight in a third person view in a city in multiplayer...
Though odd that it is Cyberverse... right when that show is over? Or maybe... this gives me hope that Cyberverse is not yet over and we can still get some better toys.

I have wanted a TF turn based strategy for ages. Even tried modding Age of Wonders II...
But I don't think this is turn based, looks more like a third person view action game. Guess we will see if we get a gameplay video. I'd love to be proven wrong, this time.
And yeah, in 2020... these graphics are really really underwhelming. I mean compare this to WFC and FOC! And those are almost a decade old.

Ummm...no, check again. These are all Cyberverse designs. I have seen Evergreen Megatron and Grimlock, and these are not them. Plus you can see Cyberverse Arcee and Nova Storm, who never had Evergreen versions.

I am just happy they are doing a NOT-MOBILE game, at last. 'cause I tried each and they are not really things I would call "games" at all. More like timewasters and microtransaction-leeches.
Plus I am glad it has a PC version too. My last console is an XBOX360 I solely bought to be able to play Skylanders.

Oh thank Primus this isn't the Certain Affinity game!!! That said, we know next to nothing about that game or if it's even still happening. It better be good, especially after this garbage.

 

While we haven't heard official news, relatively recently someone found a Certain Affinity employee's resume that said they had worked on "Transformers Impact"... it's been quite a bit of radio silence, but it seems they're still working on it behind the scenes.

If I could down vote this comment I would. Had to stop when you half insulted Devastation. Which was amazing, even years later when I discovered it. But I agree that the state of Transformers games hasn't risen above freemium, or in this case what looks to be DS Advance graphics. It's a shame.

 

Takara, Hasbro ... please ... just do the right thing and put Optimus and Megatron in a Super Robot Wars game.

... and a Devastation 2. That\'d be nice.

The sad thing about this is that because it’s not really something a wider selection of us are really looking to play, it potentially might not sell very well.

Which will tell Hasbro that console games aren’t as profitable as mobile games and therefore bye bye good TF games.

Come on Certain Affinity, you’re my only hope.

 

Also is this set in the cyberverse continuity because this looks it could fit between cyberverse s1 and s2

 

The reality of the matter is that mobile and mobile style games is still a hot market that a profit oriented company is going to tap into. That isn't to say that console gaming is dying. Companies like Hasbro pivoting towards mobile and mobile style is a strategic move. Hook kids and adults with the toy line, media, and for the on the go person, mobile games.

Console gaming represents a market that may not necessarily be also invested in toys and it's associated media. Console games represent a sector where there is significant commitment to complete a game or task and is generally unsuited for fast play with immediate gratification.

Think about it like this when you wonder about Hasbro's strategy. Do I think it's right? Probably not, but I'm not the one in money making decisions.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Devastation but it was severely bare bones. The combat was fun, the g1 homages were super nostalgic, getting the original voice actors was great and I loved being able to play as Wheeljack but the locations and gameplay were repetitive and shallow and the game itself was very short. Believe me, I replayed the game with every character and chipped away at the achievements but the more I played the more apparent the flaws became.

 

Don’t bother explaining yourself. For some reason people who really like the game act like their mother has been completely insulted if anyone criticizes the game or makes a joke about it.

 

I get your point, BUT, if the folks at Hasbro have their choice between the player base for Devastation vs the player base for Animal Crossing, which do you think they're going to pick?

 

Hey, at least this is on the Nintendo Switch. Too bad it just doesn't look that great.
