I have a KO MISB MP30 ratchet for sale. I think it is a KO as the Takara Tomy logo on the box is more purple than the original box as pointed out below. Asking $40 shipped west, $45 shipped east. Next day shipment guaranteed. Pm for pics if interested. Thank you.

 

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I'm uber late to the MP party   I just got my MP 30 (a KO) and am experiencing trouble flipping down that silver piece at the front of the van. A YouTube comment said using heat and a prying tool would help fish it out. Can anybody provide more detailed instructions, better yet a video or some photos?

Is it perhaps stuck due to excess paint in the area?

 

@Alucard77, how did you create your "tool?" *blushes* I haven't been successful at all transforming that part ever since I got my copy three days ago. Also, do you have a picture of this tool?

I basically took a long nail, and some pliers to bend the nail into a type of hook. Forced that bad boy out and kept moving it back and forth until the hinge became a little more loose.

Just did this 2 months ago on two of my molds i.e Ironhide and Ratchet. I didn't follow the video, as I didn't know that was out there. I just experimented with a heat gun as previous suggestions said to scrape at the paint, which I thought was a bit crude, even if you don't see it.

Personally, I would try to take the chrome bumper off but those screws can be a pain so on IH, I had to take my time with it on. I just pointed as much of the heat as I could on the grill where it needs to bend. It was more heat for 3-5 seconds, try to bend. Heat for 3-5 seconds, try to bend. Eventually, it will start to move and that was putting a lot of pressure on it each time.

Key here is take your time and try not to over heat it and anything near that area. I avoided using tools to assist in the bend in fear I would scratch something.

I had the same issue, get a spudger on Amazon, I've used it countless times already and they are worth their weight in gold.

 

I ordered some red cross water slides to put on his shoulders, which worked out awesomely, but does anyone know if cartoon Ratchet had the crosses on the back of the shoulders also?

By the way, don't use alcohol pads to prep the areas if you're going to put stickers or slides on Ratchet. The white paint the KO uses doesn't like it.

 

Thread resurrection. also way late to the party on this, mine just arrived from Australia, cheapest i could find even with highish shipping. I just got mine today it says ironhide on the box lol!

 

So I just noticed yellowing on mine. Anyone else?

 

mine came out the box yellow. but only near the screws by the head in bot mode. no other yellow spots so far.

 

I made some decals for MP-30 Ratchet. I figure these can be used on the KO too

Depends what your getting. I've bought 2 in the past on ebay and had mixed quality. The one thing that didn't change, is having to loosen the grill from the paint drying together so I had to use a heat gun to fix that issue. This includes Ironhide too. My prediction is these might be better seeing how Sunstreaker seemed to be the improved quality one but until more than 1 person confirms, its just speculation on my part.

I'm actually disappointed they didn't put the 3rd party upgrade kit for the hips, if its going to be listed as 4th party now, regardless if they are doing it to skirt the KO labeling it should have
