Are you looking for the least hassle in selling it all? Had you got a fund value you want to raise in mind? Places like In Demand Toys will buy as a job lot and give a fair price. They like these for the toy fairs etc as collctors will pay more at the events.

Quality photos showing the boxes and where opened contents, sticker sheets etc can make a huge difference in sales value esp on eBay.

Prices below are broad averages assuming UK buyers only, could be more or less.

The Takara book releases may fetch more or be an easier relative sale as a complete collection. They aren't worth much more than the original uk rrp as preowned but then they weren't that cheap from uk shops (epic heroes etc) back then so £30-80 on most and £100-£150 each on 06 Megatron and 0 Prime. Some are worth more on a good day as not common reissues over the years: 17 Blitzwing £80-£120+, 16 Insecticons £80-£120+, 14 Hound £80-£120+.

    Encore Omega £100-£130, Sky Lynx £50-£70, C-69 ultra magnus £120-£180, 01 Prime £100-£200+.

eBay will typically fetch more than on here but it is time consuming, wait for £1 final value fee offer. Buy it now with best offer is the way to get the most money.

I had a search on eBay in the UK and US (as some hadn't sold over here) and the basic car bots don't seem to go for much admittedly, you're right i that Prime and Megs seem to be the better items, especially Megatron for the sheer variety of accessories. Oddly the minibots seem quite highly valued, possibly because of the characters than anything else. Originally I had them listed elsewhere as a job lot of £900 (before postage) just for the TFC reissues, which averaged £45 a toy and seemed, I thought, reasonable.

I'll see what is best but thanks for the advice.

I felt similar up to around half way through the season and season 2 is much much better IMO. I would say to try and stick with it

Pretty much the same as what others have said above - I was all in on the G1 MP's but the massive price hikes and switch to cartoon accuracy have put me off. Last release I got was Sunstreaker and only as he was slightly reduced...

MP carbot prices have damn near tripled over the past 5 years, that's hard to justify. And when you read about the terrible QC over the more recent releases it's difficult to stay invested in the line. I don't want a Hound that will crumble if you so much as look at it!

For me a Masterpiece Transformer should be the definitive version of that character, taking design cues from the original toy, cartoon and comic artwork. Not a Sunbow cheap animation model. That is why IMO MP10 outshines MP44.

So yeah, design choices aside, I have been priced out of the MP game. But with such great mainline releases in WFC, does it really matter?

Addendum to my original Sly Lynx ramble, which can be found here.

Many, many moons ago, on the subject of CW Sky Lynx, I wrote

"I'd be arching even higher still if someone told me this was the Generations figure they'd be waiting for. It's Sky Lynx man. That's like pining for that Generations Deftwing figure."

It's pleasure to find out that John Barber WARDEN has been following my work, and embarrassing to discover that he's been so triggered by my words that he's created a new Commander class toy to put me in my place. I'm sorry, John. I've clearly spoken out of turn.

Joking aside, I've very clearly underestimated the appetite for a Generations Sky Lynx. From before this was even a little bit confirmed, the hype around this guy has been crazy. And I'm not even getting into the vociferous debate around what the appropriate price point for such a figure is.

Straight out the box, the boy is a stunner! Packaging him in Shuttle + Crawler mode is a neat idea, as instantly you're eyes are drawn to all that loving detail on the shuttle. From the Nasa logo, to the solar panels, to the intricately detailed rockets, to the opening cargo section. It's all so very extra. The sense of this being a labour of love comes through so strongly. And I was pleasantly surprised to see the grey highlights on the nose and wings. Nice!

Between this, Omega's Rocket Base, Astrotrain, Doubledealer's ICBM launch mode, and the Micromaster Astro Squad, it seems clear that someone in the design team really loves rockets and shuttles.

The launcher mode does what it needs to do and it's clear they've tried to put as much interesting detail into as they can. But at the end of the day it can't really compete for attention with the shuttle. But I do love the fact you can get a couple of Micromasters in the rear.

So it's good that the lynx mode really earns it's keep! Sure, the body is a bit blocky, and the attempts to give some neck articulation don't quite amount to much, but all that articulation in the legs and the detail on the head really make this a gem. They could have quite easily got away with leaving the lynx mode without a tongue and no-one would have complained. But clearly just doing well wasn't on the design team's agenda.

And I can't finish talking about the lynx/crawler mode without covering the base. After all the shuttle just kinda remains the shuttle.

I wasted little in figuring out the best way to connect this to Ironworks, Soundbarrier, and Omega Supreme (in the spirit of breaking down divisions, I even attached Astrotrain's launch pad), and it was joyous. WfC's approach to base building is so much better than what we got in TR. There's just so many more options. Sky Lynx's base mode is utterly crucial in the big picture. It allows you to extend out further and link between different bases, giving much more verisimilitude to the idea of a Transformers 'city'. I cannot wait to link up Scorponok, Slitherfang, and Airwave. And hey, maybe even one day a new WfC compatible version of Metroplex?

I realise I've gushed about this mode without actually talking about it's qualities. As far as a base goes, it's kinda mono-functional, serving only to allow Micromasters to tootle up to the shuttle via the big ramp and join onto the other base. But again, the detail is what seels it. My two favourite details are those big fans and the completely unnecessary bonus wheels, which look so odd when you see them on the top of the crawler, where the shuttle attaches. My only real quibble is that I wish there'd been different options to connect to other bases. With all the ramps facing front one has to get inventive to make him do anything but face inwards when connecting to Omega.

I'll cover the bird mode very swiftly, as most of it's features are features of the main combined mode. Legs baby! These things are much better than the need to be. I count 7 points of articulation. Front and back toe articluation AND ankle tilts? Mr Barber, you spoil us! The overall effect of this mode is kinda nutty, adorable, and ultimately inessential. I like it!

So, of course, for me the combined mode is the main show. This is what I think of when I think about Sky Lynx. And this is the mode this toy is going to spend the majority of its time in. And for good reason. This is a minor miracle. I personally can't imagine many TF's that are harder to create a toy that matches its animation model but still manages to be a play-with-able modern figure, but they've pulled it off with Sky Lynx. Much like Shockwave, I look at this thing in front of me and think "Yes. That is 100%, no fucking around, totally correct, Sky Lynx".

The big, lumbering body, and the 'curious animal' head are just perfect. The head and neck articulation make him so incredibly expressive. A sideways hinge on the last neck joint, and the ball joint on the head give you oh so many options. I've been able to pose this guy drinking from my cat's water bowl. Nevermind there not being many Transformers that I'd be able to do that with, there's not many it'd even occur to me to do that with.

And perhaps that speaks to what's so fun about this toy; it's uniqueness. Earthrise has received some (not entirely undeserved) stick for re-doing things already done. But when the line is giving us things as freakishly eccentric as the Quints and this guy, it feels a bit a churlish to let that be your final word on the line.

So, how about those details? I'm glad you asked. let's go top to tail.

When I open that mouth I'm delighted to see a split tongue, the top of which is a gun and the bottom is...a tongue and wonderfully detailed teeth. It would have been easy to just give us...a bunch of triangles, but the raised level is another example of that 'extra' that this guy gives. Likewise, I also love the way the blue wings unfurl from the shuttle wings and they're beautifully molded. To actually give a different raised level for each feather is wonderful. And the tail is smart. No longer do we suffer the indignity of rockets hanging off on a flap to allow the tail to extend. No, thanks to canny engineering we can now close the back of the shuttle and still have the tail out and proud. And what a tail! Much like the neck they've given it a characterful amount of articulation, with a lovely side tilt on the fin.

Is he perfect? Well, there's some fiddly bits of tabbing, with the wings requiring an 'up and under' twist to lock in properly and some mild faff to get the shuttle to lock into the crawler. Mine also has a very mild QC issue where one wing pops off the joint it tabs onto. But none of this robs the figure of any of its joy for me. This is probably one of the silliest and most inspired Generations figures I've seen and I love it.

But now they've raised the stakes so high, Hasbro has no choice but to give us a Commander class Big Motorvator.

    What?

Very much looking like a G2 repaint of this fella is lined up fro the design stage as a fellow board member pointed out a while ago in I believe the ER Spec thread.

I expect Paul Hitchens from the Spacebridge would be someone to talk to - a very well known seller at conventions and has his own shop now too. The Spacebridge (don't know if he's on here?).

Well, I reckon Warden/Barber is a bit on the Paxton/Pullman easy mental mix-up spectrum is all. Plus the main finishing architect of IDW 1.0 also had a bit of a soft spot for the big modest lug IIRC.

I take it your Sky Lynx is a first edition then, and doesn't have the extending arm for the thruster butt panel of the 2nd version and Encore reissue that allow for a full tail unfurling and a shut butt?

No, it's the Encore version. You can sort of close the thruster panel a bit better if you don't fully extend the tail, but you lose so much tail length in the process (2/3rd's effectively) that it's...far from a satisfying fix.

£750-900 for all should be a fair sell, I would say its worth £1250 top end. Obviously with fees you would lose some.

On ebay, the benefit of PayPal credit to your buyers is a massive boost to you and values achieved. It normally triggers the 0% 12/24 month deals on higher value listings £300+ so a collection or groups of figures e.g. Prime + Megatron can be very affordable. 6-12 months at lower rate or 0% apr kicks in on lower values.

That seems like you aren't running the tail along it's sliding tracks fully? If you do it swings down and around dropping lower than the body for a full clearance (apologies for a mid-morning butt shot!).

I thought I'd seen snaps of your G1 Lynx having a red gob gun though, when painted grey is a mark of the Encore?

My Netflix sub runs out tomorrow unfortunately (can't justify it right now). I'd love to see it through but I made a decision a while back that if the quality isn't there to start with there's a hundred other better shows that will steal my time from the get go! Thanks anyway!
This. Just hope the paint job and whatever else stands out alongside Siege somehow.
I'd happily take G2 and just leave it in tank mode!
