I'm a straight guy but I do support the LGBT community.

 

Thanks for the kind words. We came to a compromise a few days afterwards and things are pretty much as normal as they can be which is what I wanted! I decided awhile back that I'd just never come out to my parents, because I knew they wouldn't really understand. There's no reason coming out to anyone whom you don't trust. That can be pretty dangerous!

It's very nice to have found this. I wouldn't still be on TFW2005 if I thought it was all bad, I actually left other sites quite quickly, but there are some loud people here that made me unsure. But hey all these other people are here, hello.
So I am Carmen, I am a trans woman and it's nice to meet you all. Anode and Lug were actually the first positive depiction of Trans people I had ever seen, to the point that I don't consider I knew about them before then. I didn't realise that how significant that was at the time, and its taken a lot more than that to bring me to the realisation that this is who I always was. But I like mentioning that, from a different perspective I even share LL7s scene with people who don't know Transformers because Anode saying she never used to get it is like totally on point for my experience (and IDW 2005 lore fwiw)

I am still in the closet with my parents in particular, and no matter how much I try and convince them and myself I think it needs to stay that way for my benefit. Thankfully all my friends have been great and I can accept if I do have to leave my parents behind, I just want to do what I can for it to be on them when it does happen. It would in fact be a huge mistake to tell them so yeah.

Sorry to hear some of you have experienced that more explicitly, I support all of you for being here though.

 

So, this is less an update and more me bragging. But. I have a really sweet girlfriend who I care about a lot. And the best part? We’re best friend material even if romance doesn’t work out in the long term.

 

Thanks! Being closeted can be incredibly hard without the proper support network, and I've had to rebuild mine so I know longer have those awful influences I used to have in my life.

Oh congrats! Having a girlfriend is splendid, so I can definitely relate to how you're feeling right now, that's how my girlfriend and I are so I'm glad to see that there are other people who also have amazing girlfriends!

 

Congrats Vatarian; someone who could be best friend could be partner sounds great. Kinda got someone I'm hoping to explore that idea with, so I feel like 'either is absolutely fine' I just really appreciate them and like I haven't even entirely figured out what relationships are for me in general so no problem there. Just see how it goes and how they go.

 

I'm just glad that despite the toxicity a lot associate this forum with, this thread is still as positive and safe as ever

I thought I couldn't be more disgusted with the events of the past few months but it's just one pile of shit on top of another....

 

Some good news this PRIDE! The supreme court agrees that our employment rights must be upheld.

One step back earlier this month, but one step forward. Still, a win is a win! Wooooo!!!

 

I just got back (unfortunately) from staying with the GF for two weeks and it was kind of like, the best 2 weeks of my life lowkey. Like nobody I was personally with misgendered me or deadnamed me! It was really amazing and I'm glad that I was able to do it as myself.

 

I remember those days when i was younger, my parent would leave for a weekend and they were my only moments of bliss. The only times i got to be ME.

 

My roommate Brent fucking sucks. In addition to constantly filling the apartment with pot smoke and playing music and video games at max volume past midnight, today he was talking to a friend he had over about how he thinks its ok to use "gay" or f*g" as an insult so long as you're not actually talking to a gay person. Immediately spoke up, said that I'm gay and I'm not comfortable with him talking like that around me

 

I’m sorry you have to deal with that! I can’t say I’ve had something like that but I had something similar with former friends and the word tr*p
