I know this is pushing it for this thread, but it looks SOO good in a G1 centered collection.

 

If any of y’all are from Chicago, you’ll probably know Quake. It’s my favorite neighborhood vintage toy store. I’ve bought many figures there over the years and always gotten a great deal.

Dave reopened this weekend after 80 days for two people at a time in 15 minute appointments. Here’s what I got:


A really nice Action Master Soundwave — one I’ve been looking for for a while. I saw him in the window weeks ago and crossed my fingers that he’d still be there when Dave reopened. Five bucks! That’s crazy! So lucky.


My kids broke the tab on my childhood Searchlight (left), so I was looking to replace a part, but this one (right) was so nice, I think I might just retire my original.


In other news, I finally got the courage to pull the trigger on Encore Sky Lynx from BBTS not too long ago. I haven’t found the time to crack him open and sticker him up yet, but Gears is looking forward to his new friend/ride.


One last thing that I’m really pleased with is this KO Huffer I got on eBay...


...I’m no expert, but that indicia leads me to believe that this is closer to an unauthorized reissue — like from proper HasTak molds — than what you think of when you think “KO”. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Reprolabels finished him off real nice. I deliberately left off his Autobot insignias so that you know and I know that he’s not the real deal, but I’m honestly a lot happier with him than the used authentic one I got a few years ago.

What else to base a collection off of?  

 

No re-issue (or KO) this time...I decided to scoop me up my first vintage real deal G1 (since my childhood, at least)! Opening up this delivery put the biggest grin on my face. Super stoked to find him with minty chrome. No missile launcher yet but double-barrel gun and sword were a must. I also applied some of the reprolabels untraditionally...and replaced a torn rub symbol, but I think it works!

Man, I hope that comic shop I go to every other year has a cheap G1 so I won’t have to bust the 8 buck Runamuck out of his white-protecting box. I love G1s!

 

I've got an Ultra Magnus reissue from the mid 2000's still unopened I'm not doing anything with. Got anything for trade?
