I honestly can't understand how anyone can like that embarrassing thing. It's like saying you think Cybertron Runabout is the greatest representation of the character.
When we saw the CW version I preordered it so fast, it's so awesome. The guy has everything that horrible Universe mess us missing: An amazing altmode, a face sculpt that doesn't look like a Disney character, an intimidating bot mode. Legs that don't look like sticks.
I can see why people don't feel the need to trade in their CW Cyclonus for the new version. I like how the new mold looks, but it does seem there are a lot of things the CW version does better.

This is bad comedy.

I'm thinking WFC 3.
siege was all about pre-earth characters and alt modes.
earthrise is all about earth alt modes and characters that spent time on earth.
so it makes sense that WFC 3 is about "back to space" alt modes and post-earth characters(cyclonus, scourge, galvatron, unicron)

 

Just noticed the chest and crotch of Thrust seems to be remolded too. Nice.

Yeah that's because CW Cyclonus is a hommage to the G1 TOY, not the animation model. And those two had little in common, too. This new one looks like a more animation-accurate version of the Universe deluxe. Seems to even transform the same way, nosecone collapses in the body, shoulders pop from legs to cockpit. I'll get him but I like the old one too.Ah well I'll keep that one as the "Targetmaster Cyclonus" since he comes with Nightstick, and this guy will be the 1986 one.   And from the photos I am thinking he is a Voyager.

Yeah, skipped him and Prime for that reason. I did get the G2 Laser Rod repaint only for the cool stickers and paint. Otherwise they were "pre-molds" like Sentinel Prime where you could see the mold was intended for someone else.

 

I am not defending Siege Megatron, which I don't even own. TR Megatron is just not even Megatron, but I understand that you need your daily dose of contrarian trolling to function.

 

I just realized... if Maverick is the name of the Top Gun bot... does that mean he's supposed to turn into a robotic Tom Cruise? Like the Star Wars crossovers turned into awful robotic versions of the characters? At least this one looks better than those so far. The robot head looks like a pilot helmet from what I can see of the box art.

So I'm just putting this out there for the customizers. When we get three more crossovers, I want to see someone make one of those classic custom styled combiners using Unicron limbs for them with Maverick as the torsobot.

As for what the posts are about, I personally never handled the universe Cyclonus but I do like my CW/UW Cyclonuses....Cycloni? And if we are strictly speaking retail versions, the TR Megs is better than both Siege and ER Megs combined in my eyes. The Netflix Siege version, however, is the way to go if you can only have one. That battle damage... *Homer Simpson Drools*

I hope so, because I'd like Sureshot and Point-blank to have non-earth modes like Crosshairs does.....IF THEY EVER DO THEM!!!!

Yeah here is hoping they do that. I like this mold, but I have never been interested in Top Gun, could not sit through that movie ever. Only thing I like it for is existing, so Hot Shots, a far better movie, could have been made thanks to it.  

Honestly my money was on the Delorean from Back to the Future, or the Turtle-van being the next. Apart from Ecto-1 those two has been done in fanart and t-shirts the most. Top Gun is kinda out of the blue... I mean there is a new movie coming but otherwise it is a rather forgotten franchise.

 

Cyclonus’ jet mode is horrendously fat. Tres disappointing.

MMM! Some very tasty reveals. Thrust looks great so far. I'm a TAD annoyed at the placement of the Decepticon logos on his wings rather than on the turbo fan pods on his wings where they would look better. Oh well, that's what decals are for I guess, lol. Also very curious to see how they do the head. It seems the cone head is under the actual nose cone. Seems to kinds defeat the purpose of BEING a cone head but hey, if that means the cone heads have ball jointed necks I can't complain too hard.

REALLY happy to see a clean Earthrise Soundwave. I rather figured it was coming but nice to see it confirmed somewhere.

The new Cyclonus looks great and it will be nice to have a figure in Voyager class that isn't tied into a gimmick like the CW versions were. I look forward to seeing fully painted versions to see how well he stacks up when not lying on the floor in a plastic bag with all his paint on him, lol.

And last but not least, Maverick...I'm really curious to see what his robot mode looks like. Might make for a fun way to have a Leader-1 homage in my collection, lol. I echo many people here in saying that I'm shocked it wasn't the Back to the Future DeLorean or even the Batmobile but I suppose this was an easy license to get so why not?

Soundwave looks a little too similar to his Siege counterpart to my liking. If he is mostly a repaint that is such a waste.

Kinda disappointing as I have all the cassettes now.
