That packaging is shit!

Aside from that...this is a release that I have been watching fairly closely. If it was even a little larger, it would be an easy grab. The price and availability is a concern too. Finally, Zeta has a track record of re-releasing their combiners in color schemes that I prefer over the original release. Would be pissed if I shelled out $300+ for this thing and then they release a version of it that I prefer over the thing on my shelf.

So it remains on my radar.

 

Pricing is a big consideration too though. I got in when the price was ~$250 at Showzstore. Now it's $400. At $250 I think it's worth it, but $400, eh, not so much.

 

Yep, I'm in the same boat. At $243 I think this guy is a steal. The going rate, however, is a bit much to swallow. Apparently you can still grab him for under $300 but you have to go through TaoBao sellers. Just about all the online stores have adjusted the price and ticked off a number of people in the process. The reasoning for the price increase is pretty shady and vague too.

That's definitely some of the weaker 3P packaging design I've seen. DX9 is probably the king of stylized packaging to me. The more basic looks of xtb and ft are fine

 

Nope, it sort of just flew right past my radar. Been so busy at work that life pretty much passed me by. Now that it is sold out everywhere it is going to be either a long wait for a restock or I just will not get one as the after market will be to high. And with the talk of it jumping $150 bucks from $250 to $400 it has lost some of that rich buttery taste. It does look nice though.

 

Taobao can get you closer to $275 and there was another person in the 3rd party forum for this item taking orders. I think they were going for $270 (not sure if shipping was included).

I ordered one from TF-Express (China) for $305 shipped. The British one is not shipping to the US. I have had very bad experiences with Taobao in the past and would rather spend a little more than have to deal with a potential issue.

Scratch that. They just kicked back my deposit saying they do not have any future stock available. O'Well.

Just saw that you sold the Unicron to Neeral36. I am supposed to have that en route as well. Got a really good price for it, so I am hoping it arrives without any complications.

 

I might be interested in the Black Convoy, I never got MP44 so this could be a way to try out the mold while I wait for the inevitable, though unannounced reissue of mp44. I do have a lot of pending preorders though, hmm

DHL ( I am assuming ) is not nearly as reliable as Fedex or UPS but better than USPS (frankly anything is). DHL has to be signed for. Even if you select to opt out of have it signed for it rarely makes it to the driver. Luckily I am working from home this Thursday and Friday so I can sprint for the door when DHL shows. Really interested in getting a good look at the redesigned knee joints.
