So, anything pointing this to being real or not?

    Some thoughts and speculations.

If this is indeed G1 Grimlock...

I don't think this is the end of the Bay/Knight movie line, and G1 is taking over SS.
There's a "Gen" in front of the code, so could it be "Generations Studio Series"? , I mean we have MPM , Movie Masterpiece, and that's the Movie line with the MP code.

Also, with the Siege Trilogy coming to an end after Earth Rise, the Generations mainline is almost done with the characters (yeah, we still don't have much of the Japanese ones)
but with it ending, the line should reinvent itself. Not leaning too much now to G1. Maybe this time with RID, Unicron Trilogy, or something completely new.
With the EarthRise maps and hinting on other TF colony planets, maybe the 3rd part of the Siege Trilogy will focus on Beastwars, Velocitron, Planet Micro, Paradron, etc, we might get less Season 1-3 characters.

And for those who still want their G1, maybe Generations SS is the new line. this time more cartoon accurate, more affordable, and not as astronomically expensive as MPs.

I doubt there would be a listing in Walmart for a product that doesn't exist.

So this is confirmed to be Movie 86.

    It's unnecessary.

What difference would it have made if they put it in Earthrise packaging with a special Anniversary colour, you know, just like they did last year.

Happy days on SS G1, here’s hoping they aren’t those explosion-in-cutlery-draw bay monstrosities with new paint, and are actually 86 designs.

I'm curious if they'll be 1. slavish to the movie (under detailed), 2. aesthetically similar to CHUG minus Siege (appropriately detailed) or more in the 3. existing Studio Series hyper realistic level of detailing.
(ER Prime is almost there with his accurate alt mode detailing, but some of of ER is more towards the other end of the spectrum with Hoist/Trailbreakers borderline chibi truck mode and Smokescreen's cartoon-y head.)

I'd hope for somewhere between 2-3 myself, under-detailed animation-accuracy already ruined Masterpiece, lets not let it ruin mainline releases too.

Shit like this right here is why people are pissed. Is it really not possible to be excited for shit without putting the movie designs down?

...i don't care for most of the bay designs, but the studio series toys are hasbro's top-shelf effort, regardless: i cherry-pick a few here and there just for that reason alone, and i'm excited to see more character designs i'll appreciate receive similar treatment...

Studio series is already a subline of generations, the generations logo is on the boxes, so I highly doubt there will be a Transformers Generations: Generations Studio Series branding

Maybe those people should learn to control their tempers and not get angry when reading or hearing the opinions of other people and not take (sometimes harsh) criticism of a product as a personal attack. :/

I've just remembered about the future animated prequel movie of Transformers in the works which may possibly mean that if Studio Series is going to in the future include figures from movies that aren't just from live action it'd make perfect sense to include also future animated movies such as the Animated prequel film on Cybertron before the great war.

It’s obviously going to be Transformers Generations: Generations Studio Generations Edition 86 Generation.

This reminds me a bit of the "Reveal the Shield" days, where 'Generations' toys were split between two lines, with one (RTS) being a mix of G1 and movie-style molds.

Feels to me like "Studio Series 1986" is a convenient excuse/justification to get a few more G1-based molds out that didn't fit conveniently into the WFC range at the moment. While I wouldn't want to see G1 stuff take over the line with currently the least amount of gee-wunniness, if I get a good Grimlock/Dinobots that fit within WFC scaling out of it, I'll be all for it.

I’d like to see a Photoshop of G1 Grimlock in Movie colors.

If the Studio Series turns into a Transformers movie in general line and not just the live-action movies would that mean there could be Studio Series figure based on Predacons Rising then?

I stand by my opinion - as I can. Hey, I bought a SS Barricade when it went on clearance. He’s the best of a bad bunch for me. Oh and I’ve got WJs OS evasion prime too. But Bay in general, in my opinion was guff. Bumblebee was a huge step in the right direction, of designs had been like that from the start I think the movies would have got more love.
