I just pulled it apart at the seam near the "cheek" area. A toothpick can help to pry it open, just be careful with the paint. The post inside will likely rip away from the face, so just in case it ends up short/won't hold together, have some glue ready.

Love this guy. Wish the legs could straighten out a bit, but I'm really pleased with him.

I was genuinely shocked when I saw the scoop could still move in alt mode despite the transformation.

This guy's probably the best Constructicon.

I honestly think he might be the best of the group as a standalone, at least so far, tied with Scavenger.

A Scrapper clone was one of the bots Prime massacred in DOTM on his way to punch out a piece of Shockwave, right?

Among others, but yes, a Scrapper got sliced with such embarrassingly little effort I'm surprised he lasted that long into the fight.

Sweet. I think Long Haul and Brawl were other clones. I am trying to complete a DOTM robo cast in Studio Series form for my son so may end up getting this.

I get the bad to the chassis vibe from this guy; best Constructicon from G1 to the present.

Finally found this guy yesterday and I am in love with just how lanky he is, I wish his left 'hand' are at least on ball joint so that I can mod it for the flail mode.
The flat part of his right hand reminds me of a dustpan, so now he serves as the Constructicons 'maid' when they need to clean up.

This is subjectively my favorite of the whole set, and to me one of the best in the whole SS line. (Objectively gotta give my top spot to Scavenger for the individual and combined mode engineering).

HasTak didn't get/go for licensing of the alt mode Scrapper has in the movie, so they went the other extreme and designed the alt mode almost completely based on what's required for 'bot mode accuracy and to some extent the combined mode (the shovel arm has the correct mechanical details on the inside which is only revealed in arm mode), resulting in a front loader that strongly reminds me of the Build Team from Car Robot (RID 2000). It's not necessarily a bad thing though, and it blends in with the other more realistic vehicle modes really well. I also have to echo what was mentioned by above that it's amazing Shogo Hasui was able to have the 4 axis in the arms and legs line up, thus enabling an articulated bucket.

Love the engineering, especially the leg transformation and how the outside portion of the bucket forms the feet. Really great use of geometry.

The resulting 'bot mode is fantastic. It is amazingly accurate to the CG model, down to the asymmetric design on the arms. It just has that Bonecrusher kind of "I'll f$&k you up" attitude and personality to it. He even has the similar pumpkin head too. Lovely head sculpt as always (too bad the factory painted the wrong spots red for his eyes). Add his crouching physique to the mix Scrapper just gives off a unique shelf presence even among all the movie designs. His articulation is also surprisingly good, including a dedicated side to side swivel in the head, and extra butterfly style hip articulation which helps with balancing the permanently bent legs due to the nature of his design.

I wasn't a big fan of the Decepticon designs when the movies came out. The Studio Series toys have helped me to appreciate those much more. These are all just very interesting and unique if you look at them as Sci-fi movie "creature designs" rather than "Transformers designs that have to pay tribute to our nostalgia". Overall, a fantastic Studio Series figure. Worth getting even if you're not looking to complete Devastator.

I never did give my impressions of Scrapper, which is ironic since I've been wanting a Voyager Scrapper since ROTF came out.
Now I don't feel the need to say anything since your thoughts perfectly reflect mine. An excellent review!

Scrapper is easily my favorite of the SS Constructicons. A cool design and a fun, clever transformation.

Scrapper was in the pile of Transformers I saved for Christmas and I'm really impressed with him. Wasn't expecting the clever engineering on him at all. The way the cabin and upper arms lock together and everything that goes on with the legs and scoop. Kinda sad to see this guy's thread is only 4 pages long. He definitely deserves more love.

Oh and I forgot to mention he has those nice chunky solid smooth rolling wheels you almost never see on TFs anymore.

I just transformed him for the first time into his alt-mode. He was a lot tougher than I thought, beating Rampage by a wide margin. For someone who never got a toy in ROTF, he felt like a throwback to the ROTF engineering era.

Not sure if this is necessary but just as a disclaimer, I got the KO as original copies were sold out in my area.

Not that he's un-neccesarily hard to transform, but those legs can be a bit tricky. I get hung up on that step often.

That's actually a really good way to describe the figure. He absolutely feels like he fits in with the RotF period of toys. Compared to say the SS Mixmaster, which while a good figure on its own, doesn't even compare to the original in terms of complexity (or other areas IMO).
