So I deliberately skipped ER. I felt like the mass release paint job wasnt up to the standard the mold itself presents. I was waiting hoping for a netflix repaint. but this is interesting.

you have to watch the video reviews in high res so that you can see the quality of the paint job and the qualities of the gray plastic. it has additional paint apps not related to the damage, that look very crisp.

The semi chrome gun and the gold matrix chamber are icing on the cake.

I'm calling it now WFC Voager Rodimus with Matrix Chamber.

 

Mould degradation happens after several uses. I doubt they’ll use this figure enough to get there even with this usage. I mean it took how many classics seekers before that thing started showing wear?

 

I want it, and I'm probably going to get it. But for whatever the price is going to be, and I know it'll be over $50, I think molded detail for the mask and damaged ribs would incentivize me a bit more than just a paint deco.

G1 gets attention because the MAJORITY of fans grew up with it, and thus have a powerful connection to it. Heck, even if "majority" is overstated, these older fans likely spend more than you or non-G1 fans. Anyway, it's an economic issue, not one of respect (as you imply). Hasbro does not respect you OR G1 fans: Hasbro respects your cash.

Until you can show a non-G1, 3P product that sells better than G1, why should Hasbro believe your impassioned plead for different TF iterations?

 

That's objectively BS. The "majority" of fans did not grow up with G1; there are as many G1 fans as there are fans of any other part of the franchise. TFW is a notorious echo chamber, but people are starting to actually make their voices heard.

And it is absolutely an issue of respect. Beast Wars is nearly 25 years old and literally saved the brand when G1 died, and Hasbro is doing nothing, outside of a mediocre Optimal Optimus. Meanwhile, we've had nothing but G1 for over five years in CHUG; it's time to give it a break and mix in other generations, like we (sort of) had with T30, but even then everything in that line got co-opted into G1 by forcing it all into the stupid IDW comics.

 

I'd love some variety and I would to see Decepticons and Autobots I grew up with. Not just the same "Optimus Prime and Megatron have big war in 1984 Earth". We get it....now please...add some variety to the line go back to the era of T30. Where we had characters from all of Transformers. I'll say it now...Modern Generations is just G1 redone. There I say it...its literally G1 redone and no one wants to admit that modern generations is killing itself of creativity. I know there's some here who touched studio series but for crying out loud yeah its Bayverse but Bayverse at least had variety with their lines......too ranty? sorry for gettin too passionate..

 

Never thought we would ever get a dead Optimus Prime. Good thing us children of the 80's are past the trauma of his death in 86. LOL

 

I havent seen true mold degradation since the RID2000 autobot brothers. And thats as much due to the thinness and finicky nature of alot of the pieces. Something i dont think was an issue with the classic seeker

 

I freaking love this. Sad that the gut wound isn\'t actual damage, but instead paint, but the alternate head sculpt for the antannae are fine by me. I will almost certainly break down and buy this...

 

It's the same figure; the product code printed on it matches the one from the Alternate Universe OP listing.

If it is indeed an Amazon exclusive, I'd expect it to be $50.

 

Guys, the bayverse brought In a lot of money, and Beastwars saved Transformers, but G1 fans have been here and have stuck around without any media push at all. And have steadily bought figures independent of current shows, turning an experiment filler wave into the mainline. While there may be some frustration from other fans, you must realize that G1 fandom is RELIABLE, and requires zero advertisement or media to sell, and many of us have disposable income at this point. Don't get mad at Hasbro for wanting to make a buck.

Anyone else thinking that, with some additional choice paint apps, this thing would make a scary Black Lantern version of Prime?

Would have liked to see the Matrix he comes with, also digging the head sculpt save for the detail on the mouthplate.. The lines painted on there makes the damage look cheap and inauthentic.
