It's weird since the renders show the crotch to be completely black. Screenshot_20200605-005326_Google.jpg
Otherwise the figure looks really good. Can't wait.

You're right, it's backwards. You can see the flight stand port.

Ah Trailbreaker, looks awesome, far better than the CW and T30.

It looks strange because I just realized that in the render you can see the holes but painted black and here but on this picture they look red

Trailbreaker looks really bad compared to Hoist to me for some reason... Like, everything I find endearing about Hoist just looks really dumpy on Trailbreaker. I think a big part of it might be the monochromatic dark color scheme takes away some of his dimension and just makes him look like a flabby block. Or that not having the bulk of Hoists backpack throws off the proportions of the torso... something.

I also am really not feeling the headsculpt. Looks like he's got his hat pulled down too far.

Saying the only worse toys are the first ones from almost 40 years ago isn't much of a comparison, in relation to the figures we have been getting currently and Arcee from Thrilling 30, EARTHRISE Arcee is a bad design. Having 60% of the car being meant to be removed and the other 30% halfass compressing into a backpack and being the only transforming part of a Transformer is ridiculous. There is no excuses for shellformers in this day and age. If you need to fill out the character to accommodate an alt-mode or change their alt-mode to accommodate the character's silhouette then do so. I would 100% rather have Arcee's '86 design retconned to accommodate a proper figure than Hasbro/Takara trying to make something that just obviously can't be done well.

    Too soon! :(

Trailbreaker looks good, love the way his shoulder weapons fold into his back.

Who was it who was insisting that Trailbreaker's shoulders must be retoooled because they're posed in a physically impossible way in the CG render?

    Uh-huh.

    *sigh*, it was me.

I'm mildly disappointed I was wrong. Figure still looks good, but I would've liked it if the "wings" were retooled to be slightly more out of the way, like I thought.

Unless it's a bit of another Takara ER Prime photos situation, where even aside from the plastic/paint being off due to it being an earlier prototype, some of the actual molding/sculpting was different from the final figure (the Takara prototype having the trailer hitch entirely on one leg, rather than split 1/3 on one leg and 2/3 on the other on the final figure), but I don't think that's very likely.

Looks nice. Not huge on the facial expression though; I am growing increasingly disappointed with the 'badass' facesculpts for many of the Autobots *sigh* (that's the times we live in I guess).

The Prime Arcee mold and it's redecos - T30 Chromia etc -also managed that very well.

Re G1 Arcee I think the major issue for making a screen accurate mold is in the cartoon itself the car pretty much just went on her back in robot mode, it just had the benefit of animation magic letting them shrink it down a lot.
For clarity this is not intended as a comparison to the T30 mold at all which does look lovely and I'm seriously considering getting at some point.

All the best toys made for the Generations line that are also female characters are retooled male characters bar one. TR Nautica and TR Arcee (Blurr), TR Windblade (Highbrow), the Torchbearers (various CW toys) and POTP Elita-1 (Starscream). The toys made for the purpose of being female range from mediocre (T30 Arcee, T30 Windblade) and bad (POTP Moonracer, Siege Chromia, Earthrise Arcee).

The only exception to this rule is POTP Slash and arguable T30 Chromia (who TBH I personally never liked) and Legends Blackarachnia as they were retools of a Prime and an Animated mold respectively. The hourglass femmebot design makes for bad toys and it's time to move on from it.

Well the likes of Clobber and the aforementioned Strongarm are female and retain the look to some degree without being slender.

I hate to say it but the female representation and toys from Cyberverse are a lot better than generations. The deluxe Arcee from Cyberverse looks amazing and isnt a shell former as such.

I mean, there are plenty of good and unmistakably female toys in other lines. SS Jet Shatter, RiD Windblade, Animated Arcee and Blackarachnia just to name a couple... but the Generations line in particular seems to bear the curse of bad toys of girl characters and a lot of it has to do with having an hourglass-figured female robot that needs to keep its torso's sexy shilouette by wearing all the kibble on its back, or its slender form making it difficult to stand and pose or easy to break (RIP, T30 Arcee's thumbs).
