Really makes you think what Wonderfest next year has in store for us and maybe even something later this year. Hopefully the pandemic has not thrown any big wrenches into TT's plans

Well, it's now June. TT just got an MPM reveal out of the way. It's time for some BWMP news.

I know it's crazy, but Tigatron has got me feeling really good about Airazor being next. What's really great, though, is that unless the next one is one of the Generations Three, it'll be a character who Takara "will never do." Pretty stoked right now. (Well, not right now, I'm not sure a new reveal is imminent, or anything, at my age I gotta pace myself...)

Waspinator, Terrorsaur and Airazor, the three natural fliers, would make for a great trio in 2021.

I am wondering if the omission of certain characters from the recent survey implies an upcoming reveal; in which case BWII Glavatron may actually really happen (which would be yay! for me).

I honestly think Tigatron is testing the waters of going with non 'top tier' character. I doubt they'll announce another 'b-lister' before the sales data is in for Tigatron. It has been noted (anecdotally) that Blackarachnia is still freely available at reasonable prices online, that might suggest she's not been quite as big a hit as the previous (arguably) more popular characters (personally I think price and a little bit of arachnophobia might also play a part in this). I'd still put money on the next announcement being a 'safe' option like Rattap, Waspinator or Rhinox... or even Big Convoy.

As much as it has grown on me, I'd say the beast mode also plays a part. Whether or not a perfect beast mode that transforms into a perfect, or even reasonably good, is possible, the fact is the beast mode doesn't look amazing in pictures, and it's something you get used to in person.

I like the beast mode, I transform her into beast mode and pose her on the web all the time. But if you are picking and choosing which figures you are interested in, buying selectively, that beast mode would easily be a dealbreaker. Especially for the price.

If Tigatron sells better than Blackarachnia (though we don't have access to numbers, so we can't actually know this...), it might just be because how good he looks in promotional material. Both modes look fantastic. There's a chance the sale of the figures aren't tied entirely to the popularity of the figures, but also how well they appeal to non BW fans in general.

I wouldn't mind a Starscream, but I don't know how that would work with BB since they combine.

I'd love to see Takara branch out more in the MP line, but I don't know if they'd go that far (altough the mold would offer enough repaint/retool possibilities). I think it's likely they'll stick to the leaders for anything non- G1 and BW1 (atleast for now).

Personally I am hoping we'll see more BWII in Takara's Gen Selects line and/or perhaps after WFC part 3.

I don't disagree (for a change lol) I had meant to mention the beast mode, in addition to the excessive price tag and gross-out-spider-factor, it's easily the weakest beast mode so far. We may not agree that it's something you get used to or forgive over time, it's still shocking poor to imho, but like you point out it's not a good selling point either way.
Again I broadly agree. There's always going to be a combination of factors, not everyone collectors for the same reasons.... If they did we'd all be in full agreement all the time ;)  I imagine their primary aim is to appeal to fans but as we've seen with a few G1 releases there may be secondary considerations at play.

Sorry to put the question here as this is related to G1.

I'm a big Beast Wars fan (I don't even have 1 single MP G1) and I have all the BW MP toys. I'm a big fan of Dinobots, here's the question. Why HasTak not creating/making MP for the other 4 dinobots? Any reason? I'm just curious

It could be a question for the G1 MP Speculation Thread.

I know this isn't a 3rd party discussion, but seeing how some 3rd Party companies are making Transmetal "MP" quality figures, I am hopeful that Takara can pull it off too if they wanted.
Glad to see the MP BW figures are selling well enough to continue the line with Tigertron.

Transmetal Optimus Primal's name came up in a poll TT did recently. I think the posts about it are a page or two back in this thread. So that's an encouraging sign for the future.

I think that knowing us lot, TT announcing a TM Primal soon would be just as much cause for concern as celebration. Just imagine all the worry that it signals the end of the S1 figures and shows that TT really aren’t that interested in Predacons.

I just can’t imagine they seriously leaving out Rinox and Rat Trap, unless they just stop selling that many.

Eh, as far as I'm concerned, any MP BW is a victory. I want them to produce them all, and a season 2 character would cast doubt to me that they will, but I can live with that. I am thrilled with the figures we got so far, and I won't sully that victory by getting upset by what they don't give us.

If we get them all, then I'll be doubly thrilled.

Precisely. I'm over the moon about what we've got so far and of course I WANT them to produce them all (even Scorponok lol)... we all do! Tigerton seems like a good sign that we may get there someday, being a second tier character and all, however it's not unreasonable, unrealistic, or hyperbolic to look at the releases thus far, both BW and G1 and raise some concerns that it may not happen. Indeed it's actually unreasonable, unrealistic and hyperbolic to claim that those doing so are somehow walking around wearing 'The end is nigh' sandwich boards.

Some seem to exhibit the peculiarly zealous position being of being so passionately committed to getting exactly what they want that any suggestion they might not send them a bit crackers! They seem to think by dint of not ignoring the evidence of their own eyes and not exhibiting the same blind faith they'll somehow will the 'end' into existence. As if it will only happen if we all think positive thoughts and if it doesn't it will be the nay sayers fault for not believing hard enough. I had enough of that with Brexit thank you very much!

I'd prefer TT stick to season 1 for now. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the later designs, TM Primal is a particularly goofy one for me. I do like a few however and the 3P companies seem to too, JaingXing Winged Dragon is just about as good as I can imagine an MP TM2 Megatron will get and I'm looking forward to their crack at Tigerhawk. So for now I have no burning desire to see TT tackle the same, I'd rather they got my season 1 shelves sorted before moving on... however I'm not completely confident they will... my theory remains they will follow the money and put out what makes them the most regardless of how that fulfils our own personal wishlists. That isn't predicting the sky is falling in at all, indeed it's crediting TT with the good sense to do whats best for the brand and ensure its longevity.
