It seem like SS will very likely release figures from 1986 movie. So I guess SS is all about big screen regardless of G1 or Live-action. The 1986 movie got a huge roster, it will help SS line last longer.

 

Haha I believe you! I've always wanted MPM Optimus, and MPM Ironhide has been looking good for the past two years. After hearing several positive reviews of LT02, I decided to buy him and then I found Ironhide a day later at half price! I had to buy him after seeing that wonderful discount. A day or two after I bought him, MPM Ratchet was revealed!

I think I'll open Scrapper before them both though because he's been sitting in the box for ages!

After having the day to cool off and do some thinking, I don’t think SS fans have a lot to be worried about. This is either a listing mistake, or as you and numerous others have pointed out, it could be a G1 repaint of the original leader figure.

If it turns out that HasTak plans on including TFTM characters in the Studio Series line, I won’t overreact and lose my shit, but I’ll be really disappointed. Studio Series is doing well on its own so I see no reason to incorporate G1.

As will I, and again, this is coming from a fan of both G1 and SS toys. That said, if it were a one and done, I'd be okay with it. As others have said, Studio Series is aimed at the films and TFTM from 1986 is a film. If they made a special run of the core cast (both Autobot and Decepticon) and it was a one and done, that would be fine and forgivable and we could all move on. Problem is, it's a slippery slope. If it works once, it must work again, so they'll try and catch lightning in a bottle again. (The fans'll be pissed, though.)

 

I just checked in on my SS-05 (which I chromed last year) and things were still doing good. It was chipping off of the added smokestacks, but that’s super thin plastic that any paint would chip off of. On standard TF plastic, it seems to be holding up well.

I love TLK Megatron. Lucky for Hasbro I have a sense of humour and love the Deluxe Bomber mould as well. I hope we don’t have to wait too long for an official Masterpiece TLK Megs.

on the arm yes, painted him with Vallejo mecha color Yellow Ochre so he would stand out from combined mode with Hightower. Hightower was supposed to only have his crane boom painted but fully painted him too.
