Okay, this...but you grew up during Beast Wars so neither Studio Series or Generations is exactly blowing you away right now.

Hell, angry SS fans really have no idea how good they've had it. For three years they got an amazing assortment of movie characters from a franchise that is only about a decade and some change old and was getting toys THE WHOLE TIME.

Meanwhile Animated, Unicron Trilogy, BW, Car Robots, etc ..get figures sprinkled in between G1 redos.

It's been 13 years of having shelf-space dedicated to the Bayverse. You'll be okay if things scale back until the next movie.

What would be the point of that though? What would SS do that WFC doesnt, why have 2 different toy lines focusing on the same era? I dont get the logic.

Check which series makes the most bucks for Hasbro and rethink your statement.

It sure is a shame though what happened to Animated since S3 ended. But Animated, redoes? Bruh I ain't ever heard of that

But g1 fans literally have their own g1 line you could even argue Cyberverse is g1 too
G1 fans just being petty to get the same character they already got in the last 10 years
And movieverse fans probably wont even get to get the characters theyre missing

So this is just about tribalistic thinking. Us Vs. Them, My tribe Vs. Their tribe, in this case the poor starving Bayformers fans and those damn 'G1 fans'.

    Gotcha.

Speculation that SS would for some reason suddenly shift to making toys from the live action movies to make toys from the 86 movie is strange. Want it if you want it, but I dont think the number 86 is anything to warrant that sort of speculation. We already have a leader class Grimlock, if that number means anything it's more then likely just the SS Grimlock in G1 colors

I don't understand why Studio Series would become G1.

    1. Studio Series focuses on the live action movies and still has several characters left to do.

    2. We already have a toyline for G1 updates.

    3. Ultra Magnus, Arcee, and Springer are all 86 Movie characters and were released in WFC, not Studio Series.

It's more about what happens after WfC. What if they want to pivot to different bot/alt designs or play patterns that don't support the kind of accuracy they're currently going for.

It may be wise to turn Studio Series in to a brand that provides "screen accurate" versions of classic characters from across the decades while Generations follows whatever other trend they're currently going for.

It would also give them the ability to use Generations to sell highly-articulated versions of whatever movie/show they're currently promoting without interrupting whatever vintage characters they're currently putting out in Studio Series.

No. This is more “G1 literally dominates the brand and the idea of it being shoved into a toy line that has been doing pretty well on its own isn’t all that exciting” thinking.

There’s a sense of irony to be had that folks are more open to Studio Series apparently encompassing more than one generation than they are Generations doing that very thing.

Also, hilarious that you make fun of Bayformer fans for being upset at the potential idea of G1 being shoved into the toy line they’re collecting yet Geewunners are arguably infamous for whining for the last 25 years because “Muh childhood”. I know the idea that not everybody fawns over a 35 year old cartoon like you do is probably a crazy one to you, but it’s true.

So since I haven’t seen anyone say this, let me just point it out (and sorry if I missed it). The last numbered release we have for SS is 67......so like if this is the second of the winter/spring waves, it could literally just be studio series number 86......

But that wasn't always what Generations was. Look back as recently as Prime Wars. Jazz never combined. Who is Volcanicus?

The original CHUG figures were updated versions of classic characters. But they often weren't modeled after the original animation or toy.

I wouldn't be shocked if, as Studio Series is running low on characters and Hasbro/Takara is looking beyond WfC, they they want a way to keep both the concepts going without sacrificing the ability to bring in different play styles as the years go on.

I'm not familiar with trends in Studio Series, but if Overload is a summer/fall figure is it really likely we'd get 19 new figures that quickly?

Then he'd have to be literally the next guy announced.

We. Don't. Know. What. This. Listing. Means.

We just got something saying '86-grimlck-whe' and people are afraid that Studio Series is going to be made better- I mean ruined by the presence of geewun.

I think what's more likely is studio series being retired altogether, unless they plan on taking it until there's a new live action film. That kind of extreme pivot is just something I don't see Hasbro doing.
