Been a Transformers fan since Armada, and have been a serious collector since the first film. I have way too many of these things!

Finishing off Studio Series and MPMs, maybe picking up a small number of WFC figures if they're huge upgrades over earlier CHUGs, and then I'm done!

I've been in and out of collecting for years now.

At this point all I really want is Euro G1/G2 in Generations. I feel pretty finished with the original US run and I haven't like the updates of later toys. Even every modern Laser Prime has been lacking.

Since I stick to characters, I’m down to about five pieces I need to find and then I’ll have a complete collection, aside from as yet to be released items that is.

I’m not sure what I’ll do once it’s complete. It would be nice to be in maintenance only mode, but I’ll probably get the itch to hunt again. I’ve already started looking at old Chogokin/Shogun Warriors I had as a kid.

I'm pretty much done. Actual toys that is. Going to buy a few figures here and there but nowhere what I've been buying. Picking up the oddities. IE: sticker books, school/birthday supplies, etc....

An earthrise-style Skids and omnibots would be great...maybe a proper Huffer and Pipes...but, at this point, I feel like I could quit and be content.

But I won't, because I always outstay my welcome.

I’ve slowed down, but, it’s hard to say how close I am to being done...no idea what they’ll come out with next. I am also at a point where I could probably stand to part with some things (duplicates...older figures that have better versions out or on the way...etc.).

Yes. Skipping a fair amount of the new stuff (which I couldn’t say in the past), and knocking out the rest of G1. Hopefully next year I will be down to only needing a couple actionmasters. Then it is on to the few Japanese G1s I feel I need, and a couple 3P/MPs I want. With the MPs I am good with a well rounded cast of all stars, and I am done.

I guess it's possible that I am. I'm not certain what the future holds for me financially, and this hobby is a luxury. But I am going to be optimistic and say no.

There are still a few Siege figures I'd like to get, and while Earthrise hasn't grabbed me overall as much as Siege has, I definitely want some out of that line as well. Also, I'd kind of like to get into 3P legends at some point.

Definitely slowing down. I invested a lot in the pre-WFC generations transformers, and was able to complete a lot of what I wanted. Plus, there seems to be a focus on redoing even recent characters from Hasbro (ie, ER prime, Megatron, starscream, thundercracker. Skywarp, wheeljack, etc.). I tend to collect one version of most characters (there are a number of exceptions though), so I only upgrade when I find a version I like better than what I have.

Nah. I enjoy collecting so as long as they’re making stuff I like, I’m in it for the long haul. Pun intended.

I feel like I'm close. I've defined what I really want, and what I enjoy the most. I think I can be there in the next few years.

I think when i finish my chug collection I’ll start buying more UT figures to complete my childhood collection

I’ll also always buy cool looking things, and army builders. Always have room for army builders

I'm in the 'not sure' camp. I've been collecting Transformers/Action figures since I was a kid but I've have a number of long absences where I've lost interest and got rid of much of my collection. My recent stint of enthusiasm began around the time I (re)joined these forums in 2014. 6 years later and I do feel a little tired of it again, I think I now have a pretty good idea of what done looks like. I'm fairly sure I've done with G1 MPs, between TT and 3P I have all the characters I'd ever wanted (although I would be happy to upgrade the odd one here and there where I feel its worth while). I'm fairly committed to getting just about any Beast Wars MP from the Mainframe shows although my interest wains outside of season 1 and I've drawn a line at the Japanese shows. There there's the MP legends collection I may or may not start to go with Zeta Unicron, which really relies on me liking that figure once it arrives and if I feel Legends would look good with it, and could mark me being largely done with official collecting. Outside of Transformers I have developed a bit of a thing for MAFEX and SH Figuarts that might find me going in new directions.

Of course I reserve the right to totally change my mind.

No. G1 style MP isn’t my thing, I even sold Mp-36 and only mild regrets. Official Chug is overpriced and pretty hard to get in my country, so I’m just watching it go by.
But Takara Mp BW, MMC, Iron Factory.. I’m their bitch, it’s just how it is. And now I’ve discovered the joy of ultra-detailed nontransforming figures.

Honestly? I'm reaching a point where I'm starting to ask myself 'what next?'. WFC is giving me a lot of the updates that I want, and I'm finally able to start assembling a decent G1 update collection that doesn't feel like it's going to have holes in it. The Studio Series stuff is nice, but it made me realise that I don't actually like the movie designs enough to want to update them, and I haven't been invested in a mainline series since Animated. So, once I've updated G1, what do I do? I can't see myself buying the whole lot again - I'm already skipping the new Starscream, Smokescreen, and Megatron - and G1/2 will run out things to update eventually. I'd be interested in the series cast of Beast Wars/Machines, and maybe a few AEC updates, but that'd be it.

I don't see myself dropping out completely, but I can see the collecting slowing down in the not too distant future. Unless, of course, there's a new mainline with fantastic designs and great toys that takes us somewhere different. I think that's the nature of collecting though. As a wise man once said, it never ends...

Near the end? No. Nowhere near.

But I do have a list that is gradually being ticked off, and once that list is done, then so is buying Transformers, because this, for me, is about owning a specific set of toys, not buying whatever the latest thing is. Once I have what I want, I will stop.

So not near the end, but I most certainly can see it.

I think for a lot of us long-time collectors there isn't such a thing as 'finishing your collection'. But I did make plans; I recently dug out my old bank statements - hey I have the time - to look back when I bought my first Transformer collectible as an adult. That was summer of 2003. And I have decided to make it 20 years and then say goodbye to collecting Transformers.

What strenghtens my resolve is the fact that just before that summer I will be starting my 40th year of life; and that feels like a great moment to say goodbye. Furthermore, I am literally at the peak of collecting in terms of my enthusiasm and the joy I get out of it. And in 3 years that will have diminished no doubt, so it makes sense. I don't think the decision is going to be hard.

So spring/summer 2023 will be my 'End of the Road' for transformers collecting.

I don't see myself ever saying "That's it, absolutely no more" but my collection is pretty close to complete.

Since I started collecting in 2016 I have maintained a wants list, and the names remaining on it are either more likes than wants (voyager Sky Byte, legends Insecticons), or there's no suitable toy in existence (leader Pyro, deluxe Crankcase). My last personal grail item was MMC's take on Swerve, and I got him in January.

Some of the forthcoming / rumoured / surely inevitable WFC2&3 releases are interesting (battlechargers, Rotorstorm; hoping for a voyager Blaster) and there's a few 3P ones I'll pick up if the price is right / I have the money at the time. But I'm definitely sledging down the far side of the bell curve, sort of thing.
