Same here, I love their plastic and it's near indestructible qualities. I am a ham fisted oaf and breaking TFs is my spiritual gift, unless it's good ole' Magic Square.

I'll take cheap 'looking', high quality plastic over MFT's vibrant, flimsy plastic any day.

Don't get me wrong, I like their plastic quality, but to me the blue one looks subpar to what I'm used to from them.
On the other hand, it could just be the pictures that make it appear so.
I guess I'll need some more in hand pictures

i don't find MFT plastic too flimsy or vibrant. more so i don't like how their mold engineering tolerances are way too tight and causes transforming and also some articulation issues. :p

I'm buying the Soundblaster from someone here that just wanted Laserbeak. Will buy the Cassette pack to go with it.

Agreed, and I already have Dx9 and HS Soundwave so at least this will be different. I was more of a fan of buzzsaw anyways. Besides, Buzzsaw will look better with Soundblaster s color scheme

For me, SoundBlaster is a non-starter no matter whos packed in. I just have zero interest in it as a deco.
The problem with this tactic is they aren't using an add-on to sweeten the deal like NA with the Starscream Coronation kit, or Takara including RatBat with SoundBlaster (Ratbat didn't appear till the movie and had about 5 appearances total, while Laserbeak was in episode one and was a constant presence through the series). They're trying to leverage the popularity of Laserbeak to push people into buying SoundBlaster. For a lot of collectors, that particular purchase is more along the lines of Laserbeak with a "black Soundwave" thrown in. An extra deco should be able to stand on its own, or else it may not be worth doing at all?
For me, I'd pay more for the Soundwave and minion pack you mention, (which I'm still hoping is the direction NA goes in)
As it stands, MS probably won't even get a Minion's pack sale out of me, because that needs to include the two biggest cassette characters - Ravage and Laserbeak (given Rumble's already coming with Soundwave) Instead I'd be paying extra for a Buzzsaw, RatBat and Frenzy that are nice to haves but not essential, just to get Ravage, and then I also need to buy a SoundBlaster just to get Laserbeak!
If you have to do an add-in, then use RatBat or maybe the less popular Buzzsaw or Frenzy? Or as you say, throw in a two-pack of the one-off cassettes like Overkill etc.

I'm not sure which MFT figures you all are buying, but I've never had an issues with flimsiness, tolerances or anything else, for that matter.

On the other hand, MSTs plastic colors do concern me. Of course, it's impossible to tell from the photos, but Voice Ripple almost looks more like a 3D print, quality wise, than he does a mass produced toy.

I'll just have to hold final judgement for when he arrives.

Mft Magnus 2.0, Mft Galvatron so far

Bicep swivels so tight they open up the plastic on Magnus, and completely loose shoulder on Galvatron. All-round "rattly" feel

Yeah, that's pretty strange. I don't own Galvatron, but I do have Mags 2.0 and he's damn near perfect.

check out MS-05 sideswipe, it's an old but fairly popular figure. trying to transform that thing is a hog from start to finish. worst being trying to get the front wheels up and over some tabs to lock them into place for alt mode.

similarly difficult to tab in the top of the shoulders on their grapple and inferno (MS-45 & 46) for alt mode. in both cases the tabs are way too big/intrusive for sideswipe & grapple/inferno and you are flexing plastic to force it over these tabs. i've resorted to rounding and filing down those tabs to make a smoother process.

lastly for their OS KO of IF shockwave (MS-35), the top of the thighs are too large and/or squared off or the ball joints should have been placed lower, as those top corners can't rotate and clear past hitting the torso so you can't pose the legs properly in all positions. the PocketToy 1:1 KO doesn't suffer that problem and pose very well. i will probably end up rounding/filing down those corners on the top of the thighs for better clearance when i get a chance.

I have both of those and never had an issue. Sometimes joints are a bit tight but no worse than stuff from Iron Factory. Most figures MFT ko's from MS are superior to the originals due to paint and usually new heads or minor changes. I have never liked the plastic on MS figures, always dull and cheap feeling to me at least. None have wowed me either and I have several of their releases.
