Ouch! Also looks like john had to explain to people in the movie buisness what are with the three hbo apps! Even people in hollywood are confused! Watched a few more videos from other people and they are slamming it getting called hbo max also! WB has it's own wii-u!

Also wb is getting hate everywhere for this app! From no roku or amazon to people hating how the interface is! Yikes!

Will HBO Max be discontinued in a year?

It didn't launch worldwide, it's not available on Roku or Firestick, and it doesn't support 4K or HDR.

It’s actually pretty easy to get on fire stick, just have to side load it.

The branding and marketing for this service has been so muddled I can understand why the launch was soft.

Having it share a name with HBO still seems very confusing. There’s content from other services like DC Universe and Adult Swim but not their full catalogs. Is the plan to eventually integrate them fully into HBO Max?

It’s not a big deal to me as I already had an HBO Now subscription so this is essentially a free update of more content. Doesn’t seem like it has much appeal as its own individual service though with how little original content it has.

Not likely. It'll take years to get it right.

It probably won't either, Hulu never has. A lot of it's content was sold to other media companies worldwide, including Netflix. Here HBO is licensed by both of our private media companies. They split it east and west. Except streaming that's all Bell media, so you can get all the HBO stuff with a higher tier on their Crave streaming service. So no HBO streaming apps are available here.

They really need WB or Warner in the title. There are probably people that just think it is HBO shows, not WB items as well.

And LOL that there are items on it scheduled to be removed. Why even put them on there to begin with.

I think the issue with the stuff that's coming down is that Max replaced Now on most streaming devices so it's some of the HBO Now stuff that's licensing is coming down. Everything that appears to be leaving Max was also scheduled to leave Now at this time. It all boils down to Max's role out being very confusing and not explained very well.

HBO Max had only 90,000 mobile downloads on launch day.

How big of a disaster is that? Should we keep in mind that HBO Max didn't launch on Roku or Firestick, and it only launched in the US?

While it didn't "launch" on amazon fire sticks, it can still be gotten on the fire stick. You literally check a box, find a link to download it and install it. But yes, lets keep mentioning how it's not available on the fire stick

If it was cheaper I would probably subscribed but in a now over saturated market we need cheaper prices. It sounds terrible to say because a lot goes into this service but when Disney sells a bundle of 3 services for the price of your one there is an issue and in a way Netflix gets a pass on price because they were first and we are already addicted to it despite the price. Lol

As of right now they don’t have content that I want. I saw all of GOT. Lost interest in Westworlds. I own everything DC. I have nothing to watch on it until the Snyder cut.

Okay, well Netflix has some good exclusive content too.

Like I said Netflix was the original and we are all addicted to the service so that’s why the price increase doesn’t sting as bad as other services trying to start at $15 a month.
