Yeah, this actually has me more optimistic about Botbots' future. If Hasbro is doing this, it means they aren't content to just let the line slowly die with the later waves being solely available via a few online methods, but are making a big push to get this available to more retailers. Now, whether this is successful or not we will have to see, but I think this is a positive development that they're changing the method of distribution to better suit retailers' needs.

This would also explain why Series 5 singles are so late in coming out (beyond COVID-related delays, of course); Hasbro is re-doing how they're distributing singles and want to get previous Waves in more stores. Only a few "regular" Series 5 single cases leaked out into the wild before they decided to re-do things.

 

my local targets stock a single peg of blindpacks and presumably have a case in the back to restock. This seems much better for retailers.

 

i seen the promo package photos, but I never saw the video... nor seen anyone mention these new molds and repaints here. Was just curious about the lack of S6 news and checked online.
To me it looks like some NASA equipment, so maybe it is a new Science Alliance member. The prongs will make it stand and the sides have little windows, I guess? Hence why I assumed rocket.

Seems to me it is a smaller case of blindbags. The picture shown only shows a new cardboard holder that seems to have 6 blindbags... So my guess is, this is a new display system where not all 24 are put out, but only 6. Probably so stores with less shelf space can also put them out? Likely the case still contains all 24, but they will be in these 4x6 smaller display boxes.
Hope these don't become the new norm, as this way you'd need to buy 6 then wait a week or so for the store to put the next one out...

 

In Asda in the UK they have boxes just like that in terms of shape that contain about 6 series 3 toys - so this is likely the same idea.
I hope they change to series 4 soon then I can get the last couple of figures I need in the singles bought - I hold out little hope now for series 4 & 4 multi-packs until the clearance retailers get them as they are a pain to chase in the current situation and Argos in the K have them on clearance now - suggesting they won't even be selling the product once the next catalogue comes out.

 

Yeah, with the update of pictures since I initially posted the listings, it's the same price as the previous case of 24 so the same 24 presumably are in each, but each case has 4 different sleeves of 6, which are presumably for retailers who don't want to dedicate as much shelf space to Botbots-- let's face it, single-pack Botbots are probably going to be an impulse purchase product anyways. Each sleeve DOES look like it has images on it of which 6 are in the sleeve, though, so you'll be getting less randomness even if you don't have access to the entire case at once. I'm still buying a full case online though, so that aspect of it doesn't really affect me-- no stores near me carry Botbots.

I still see “infuencer” (god, I loathe that term) posts about them here and there. It’s not as strong of a push as I’d like, but distribution around here has improved significantly in recent months. I’m sure people have been seeing them at dollar stores for a while and I simply didn’t venture in, but one near me also just put up a row of series four singles.

 

Color me jealous... around here we're getting no restock, so aside from the Series 5 8-pack cases that dropped pre-Commie Lung AIDS at a handful of Targets we're down to mostly Series 3 deadstock and a smattering of Seris 4... and NOTHING's moving, no crap I'm in the same Targets every 2-3 days and it's the same figures in the same quantities TF brandwide. Ditto JP/JW, so I'm wondering if this is just a Seattle thing... still looking for the Cardio Clique packs and the Series 5 singles to complete the collection, but have TFWiki "Must Have" Party Favors and Deliciosos packs to trade for 'em. Weird that Amazon's only selling 2 out of the 3 5-packs... what's happening to the three Cardios they get in each case then?

 

Eh, they got 6 series already, literally hundreds of toys. They lasted longer than many other Hasbro secondary toyline, I would not worry about their future. Bot Shots or Tiny Turbo Changers did not last this long, even.

Now I have 4 of this cute dino-plant mold Botbot. Hasbro should do one more, so I can repurpose them as Bruno, Bubba, Bernie, Buck and Bugsy.

Anyhow, they can nicely hide among my real plants.  

 

But Design and Production don't mean crap if you can't get Distribution... take Mattel JW for example, about half the line every year ends up being "Asia/Australia/Latin America Only" because the US retailers over-ordered early and are clogged with deadstock.

I've been driving around my area buying up the series 2, 3, and 4 stuff I can find. I went all in the series 1 but fell off afterwards. Now I'm trying to catch up and complete the sets.

Some of the sets are giving me a real tough time though, like the Movie Moguls set with Beymne, the Playroom Posse set with Cuddle Wuddle, and the Spoiled Rotten set with Bogus Pocus. I tried playing my luck for some online early on, like the 3 Playroom Posse sets I was missing at the start of my venture, and somehow I received 3 of the one with Blabberbook. Real bad luck there.

 

I’m wondering if hasbro has released any more of the art of the S5 Science Alliance or Retro Replays. They did make some art for them , But I wonder if they made art for all of the members

The Series 5 singles were restocked at the closest TRU today. I found the one Bok-Bok guy I needed, so just need some 5 and 8 packs to never appear now.  

 

I'm having the opposite problem where I see all the series 5 five and eight packs, but no singles. Maybe one day...

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but today I saw singles at Walgreens for the first time. Series 1 and 3 were on the peg.
