I'm sure you'd have the exact same opinion on this if it were Furman or Hama or whoever writing this, I'm sure you've got no other agenda you're trying to push here.

 

That seems like something that would've been made eventually, but what the hell about Nezha: Transformers? Two popular brands in China, but the most arbitrary crossover possible. So his ancient Chinese magic or something will let him become a Transformer? But I can't speak on it objectively until it's out. Maybe it becomes The Sopranos of the Transformers franchise, lmfao.

 

Let me see...A couple of one-shots, artwork, and two personal stories...
I won't speak on the quality of those things but isn't this a pretty normal thing that writers and artists have done?

a collection of one-shot stories about female characters from various hasbro franchises, plus some short autobiographical stories by female writers for hasbro properties, published in the interest of showing an underrepresented group's perspective n the stories they have to tell.

...or, in other words, "pandering" that uh... what's the way to put this? triggers some special snowflakes who are offended by the idea of that?

 

Because everything done to help boost female creators must be done only for clout. That says a lot more about you than it does Synergy.

 

A terrible partially self-biographical anthology of stuff from creators at IDW who are women because them being women is apparently more interesting and important than their skill and ability to create.

A few terrible one-shots are also included, alongside interviews and cover art, but the real goldmine are the comic 'retellings' of the lives of several creators that I'm sure are 100% honest, not at all embellished or anything like that... It's all just really self aggrandizing, ego-stroking put onto paper for us to read because they assume we care about them and their lives.

Because IDW clearly knows their audience this thing sold pretty well and wasn't at all a waste of paper that sat unsold on shelves for months.

 

You know what boosts female creators? Producing quality work. Devin Grayson didn't need paraded across a DC special, she produced great work and has had a rather significant career because of it. She's far from the only one at that. The ones you see nosediving are the ones who can't hammer out product but make sure to beat you over the head with their identity like it's a "get out of cancellation free" card for writing/drawing shit comics. Assuming the parade is necessary says more about you than it does @Novaburnhilde.

Man, I loved Attacktix growing up. I still would, if I weren't worried about my figures getting broken because of how old they're getting. I never got into the Transformers ones, but I was all about the Star Wars ones. I honestly think it was a genius game. It's the only miniature-based tabletop game I've ever been able to get into, because it didn't involve rolling a dice and figuring up stats, and then sort of pretending like your characters are attacking each other...Attacktix actually had physical attacks, which (to me) is so much funner and more intuitive. Attacktix spoiled me on tabletop and roleplay games, everything else just feels phony and lame to me now.

I agree that the blind-packaging was dumb though. I honestly think if they weren't packaged that way, it might have taken off better. I keep holding out hope that they'll bring it back, but sadly I don't think it could exist in the modern world with all the firing projectiles and whatnot. Too much of a hazard.

Marvel isn't going to go out of business because they made a couple tone-deaf characters in an attempt to appeal to the kiddies. You types always adopt this "doom and gloom" rhetoric because you cannot conceive of your opposition being successful, and vice versa.
