Huh. Somehow I didn’t scroll through all the pics. So that would logically mean the twins in the pack could go to the Dino chicks. Too bad they didn’t get melee masters...

 

The diaclone severo was supposed to come with 2 drivers but everything got lost during the production so it ended up with only 1. The drivers are supposed to represent the mele masters before they were changed into weapons. There was a whole story planned around the solorons and how they got to the ler planet and how they became the weapons. The 6 pack was to represent the solorons before arriving to the LER. Diaclone releases reoresent before they got their mele mode and the regular release was after solorons were fused with their partners.

Mush of the story was drafted but unfortunately never got further than that. Communication with the writing team and design team was pretty non exitant and so everything kinda fell apart. Maybe someday someone will pick it up and continue.

 

Cool. So was there any reason they decided NOT to give the girls Melee Masters? They kinda stand out from the crowd.

 

I don't think they have any points on which the melee masters can mount, do they? Obviously not a dealbreaker (I really want more melee masters, too), but mine are in storage and I just can't recall.

 

The throne is pretty sweet

 

If I recall correctly, the girls were supposed to be assigned as protectors of the 'king' and since they were more lithe and used more ninja type qualities they were to not be encumbered with large bulky weapons like the brute force needed for the main set. This was planned after it was known that the girls did not have the melee figures. Why the designer did not do anything for the girls, well that is between the designer and the head of FP. I can only guess that it would be because they are girls and big bulky weapons is not sexy.

 

That's a great storyline, Spence... too bad there wasn't any traction to get it done.
It makes more sense now to me to see the 6 pack of solorons come with a pair of twins (for Severo).
Was always wondering why the duplicate was included.

The only place I've seen it available is at LER-04D – Severo – FansProject Store and they seem to be sold out.

The Diaclone Severo was a TF Con US 2016 exclusive. Other stores used to stock them after the convention, but I don't think any of them did it for this version outside of the FP Store.

 

Anyone willing to sell the little diaclone driver that came with Severo please shoot me a PM with your asking price.

I’m also looking for the diaclone driver that was included with the recently released Pinchar as well.

I do have some extra copies of the melee masters that we’re included with the regular release FP dinos that I could throw in a trade.

For now I'll use Trianix alpha as my diaclone Dino leader. His chrome works for me

 

When I couldn't find him I used various other characters as their leader (I don't care for diaclone perse so I used whatever worked for my headcannon, i.e. Steelcore, Crystal Protector).

He was readily available on taobao I remember though, so you might want to try that.

 

If anyone is still interested in picking this guy up, it appears the FP Store has them back in stock again!
