I call this 'the saga of November 23rd 1985'. It was my seventh birthday and I was allowed to go to the toy shop and pick a present. Naturally, it had to be a Transformer. I knew my Gran had got me Optimus Prime so I had to get his nemesis, right? Right! Megatron it was.

As soon as I got him home and out of the box he broke. I can't remember how or which part. Take your pick of any of his flimsier parts. My Dad took us back and demanded an exchange. For reasons beyond mortal ken I picked Staxx. Even my Dad sensed this was a dubious choice and asked me, more than once, if I was sure. I put my stubbornness down to fatigue. It had been an emotionally charged day.

I've been looking for a good quality Staxx, with his stacks (only one pictured, but the seller messaged me to let me know the other one had fallen out the packaging and is currently in transit) for some time. Having these two together really takes me back.

 

That's Staks, not Staxx. Funny story nonetheless.

 

Been a while.

 

Amazing tale I never had G1 Megatron but in those times I'd have liked a lot to buy and put him together with Optimus. In Season 1 my most vivid memories about Megs were his continue arguments with Starscream. I'm sorry to hear about your toy breakage perhaps that mold is more fragile than I thought. And gobot truck appears a nice toy especially in alt mode is just that at those times I was focused only on Transformers toys for the toon.

For me favorite of day is POTP Beachcomber,just watched again scene of his first encounter with animals in "The golden lagoon" and I' already searching for one of these toys!

Today it's the rainmakers, originally I was going to just buy the regular seeker trio when seige was going on but when they announced the rainmakers I instantly wanted them. They're a neat set in my opinion and its cool to get some toys of more obscure characters.  

 

Picked up a Grail today, one of the few Alternator/Binaltech/Alternity figures that I need, Thundercracker being the other.

I wasn’t disappointed, I love this version of Ravage. His Alt mode is stellar and he looks great in robot mode too.

 

Back to the Big Guy today.
