I have several 3A figures, love ‘em, but I can respect people not understanding them. I’m that way about collectible statues. Especially ones where there are interchangeable parts. Why spend $200-$2000 for a stagnant display? I can understand a comic book store buying them, but not Joe Average. Especially the demented anime nude statues. I don’t understand that at all... so I can understand someone else thinking I’m crazy for buying a non transforming Transformer. The world is a little nutters.

Yeah I don't get statues myself hehe but I'm a pose and display kind of collector and this one looks great and can pose which is why I purchased it.

On a side note is anyone able to get this pose? I'm having trouble with it

I'll help you out! Just send your Optimus to me and I'll have a go at posing it like that, then I'll take some photos and show you...

    How kind am I? :D

I received mine on Friday. Incredible figure! I have all three of the DLX Bumblebee movie figures and have Soundwave on pre-order. This line is just amazing.

When you have "statue- disposable income and space" you'll understand.
There is no comparison to having a 3-4 foot highly detailed transformer representation that even those who don't understand collecting itself can appreciate.

I've had people look at my "toys" and scratch their heads, then go "Oh wow!" when seeing the same statue representation.

To each their own! I knew a person who collected and displayed standees from movie theaters and, at the time, Blockbusters. I thought she was flippin' nuts. She had a storage unit FULL of them, and she just rotated what she had on display at her domicile.

    Exactly.

I do understand "why" people collect them though I might not have the same urge to.
I have some statues, (Prime 1, Sideshow, etc) HotToys, 3A, Taraka, etc. and to be honest I'd upgrade ALL my figures to statues if I could.

Statues to me last longer. All my figures show some type of wear. :(
That being said, I still own transformers I first got 30 years ago.

I had a few of them that I'd collected over the years, both from the cinema and local video stores, but unfortunately they all got damaged while in storage :(

finally got mine in hand. i bought this dude because i pretty much stopped collecting n sold all my shit (besides any i got as gifts, n i still pick up whatever skybytes come out) so i got this dude to "represent" transformers in my home in a... classier way?? if that makes sense? like, he fits in with normal home decorations more than most tf's. whatever, i'm rambling lol

    general thoughts:
-not super worth $190, even with all the articulation, detailing n paint n whatnot. $150 is probably the most i'd wanna pay for something like this again, n i'm glad i didn't splurge on blitzwing in the waiting period. i also look back on the money i spent on stuff like mp's which have way less die cast, less paint, n have been getting notoriously pricier n fragile lately n cringe
-the hands really aren't that hard to swap out. i figured based off the complaints i'd have preferred articulated hands but i definitely like the swappable solution better
-the articulation is insane. he has articulated traps! that's insane! the toes are probably the least useful articulation but i still really love their inclusion. the entire chest articulation is crazy n really brings him to life. love the spine
-the shoulder stack area pops off more easily than i'd like but it's preferable to breakage, n with a heavy dude like this it's definitely better to tumble-proof him
-the head keeps popping off the neck because the neck isn't really that easy to access otherwise. really my only big complaint about him, it sucks posing the neck n the head together
-the paint is insane!! in natural light especially he looks photorealistic. it's the optimus i envisioned as a kid
-wish the gun was black instead of uh, gunmetal, but it still looks great
-my favorite part is definitely the ass/crotch/hip area. the way all 3 move n flex despite being such small parts really helps him feel alive. they move in a way wherever you pose him you really get the feel for how naturalistically this giant truck robot would move. like actual muscles flexing, it's crazy. really sells the design.

10/10 overall, i love my robot dad

I cancelled my local preorder because it was being pushed back for the third time and ordered from HLJ while they still had stock. Now I'm probably paying way too much for this guy with shipping and customs, but eh.

Speaking of customs, that's where he's stuck right now.

    Oh God.
    Oh fuck.
    Oh Lord.

He's amazing. He's bigger than I expected. He's heftier than I expected. Sturdier. Prettier. Smellier?

This guy dethroned my Riobot Devolution Getter 1 as the crown jewel of my collection within minutes. God he's amazing.
I wanna take better pictures and put all that articulation to the test, but I'm too scared to touch him right now. I can already feel my heart breaking at the thought of putting a scratch in those windshields or breaking those wristguards.

    I'll calm down now.

Do any of you have a problem with the head closing fully after batteries have been inserted? There's a small gap either in the front or in the back. Not sure if I can shave off any plastic somewhere and I'm not sure I want to either.

Easy peasy. You don't even necessarily have to extend the legs. If one were to be nitpicky I didn't quite get the range of movement in the elbows and neck as shown in the source, but for a quick first attempt it's still very satisfying imo. The articulation on this guy is amazingly smooth, I expected to run into more jank.

I'm sorry if I'm spamming this thread, but I don't know how to grade this issue. My Primes right arm has a little less elbow bend than his left one:
    IMAG6600.jpg
Now I'm thinking there's something hindering the lower elbow joint, the joint moves a little jarring, like there's sand in it. There's also scratch marks in the diecast:
    IMAG6596.jpg
I've tried forcing it, but it really doesn't go any further. Is this a known issue I can fix? I'm considering contacting ThreeZero support (Just registered my warranty), but I don't know how that'll work out since I'm located in Germany. Also unsure if it's even worth the effort since it seems really minor, but it has been bothering me because it's the only flaw I found on this figure.

I'm glad to see the 3A DLX line is taking off. I was really eyeing the Blitzwing when it was announced but unfortunately for me, I only have the income for either FlameToys or 3A and Flametoys won out.

I hope it continues in the future, their newly announced Megs and Prime figures really shows a lot of promise with where they can take the line.
