I'm tired of the uncertainty of whether or not I will be able to see my other half sooner rather than later. Everyday and often by the hour, I'm checking on flights and what regs our countries have in place for travelers. The separation is difficult enough, but having a continuously fluctuating plan, i.e. NOT really knowing for sure when we will see each other is the damn killer.

She sent me another video today. It's a strange feeling to be happy beyond words, and also want to punch a hole in the wall out of frustration and anger about not being able to go to her.

 

 

Next time try saying 'You sound like you need a break,' or 'sounds like you're having a tough day' in a mild conversational tone, regardless of how you yourself feel. I find it tends to make people rethink how they're acting and calm down, because someone (you) have acknowledged their feelings. People often need that simple kindness, especially nowadays, and in turn they're usually kinder, and giving someone else that consideration will usually help YOU not be as frustrated as well.

Multiple rants incoming:

I’m dead tired. I can doze off while reading at night but when I actually get up and turn off the light to actually sleep, I’m awake for hours. I’ve gotten very little sleep the last 2 nights.

Which bring me to noisy neighbors again. For the last month one neighbor has been doing concrete and renovation work in their backyard. I’ve endured weekends of jackhammering at 8am (I’m up well before that but it goes on for hours), sledgehammering, nail hammering, drilling – you name it it’s happened. They’re nice people and I like them, but it’s getting old.

The other neighbor, the one who I’ve complained about before with the music, sits out in their backyard for 7 to 8 hours – you guessed it- playing loud music. They’re also on conference/video calls for work outside on speakerphone. All their personal phone conversations take place in their yard as well – yesterday afternoon I was treated to a “top of the lungs”, screaming, ranting, argumentative phone call this person was having with a family member or friend. It was pretty bad. You could hear them down the block. I don’t really want or need to hear someone’s business. And their kids? They’re screaming/shrieking, at 11, 12, 1am because they’re playing videogames with their window wide open. I really don’t know what’s wrong with people today – oh wait- I DO know. Lack of consideration for other people, self absorption and a general “I can do whatever the f*ck I want because I bought the house and live here” attitude.

It’s getting hot. I hate summer. When will winter get here?

 

I think you can talk with local law enforcement and file noise violation complaints.

 

I ask this question every day. (Although I actually ask wehn will fall get here.)

 

There's a situation that I've been keeping an eye on for a while now and I am so dissapointed at how both people are fucking up so badly. Even the person who is more on the right side of things is fucking up and ruining it for himself at how uncoordinated and mindlessly he is approaching the whole situation.

I really need to remember to check on eBay prices for things I see here on the boards without prices so I don't embarrass myself again.... Last thing I want to do is upset anyone from my dumb ass not keeping up with the times....

 

Code enforcement here is useless (I've been down this road before). All they can do is make a note and send them a warning letter and later on a ticket if it keeps up (which never happens)- they aren't allowed to talk or approach the party involved. And cops generally have better things to do, and here point you to your village code enforcement. The only times cops get involved if it's a large party at night that goes on for hours, etc.

Yeah autumn is my favorite season, but we seem to go from summer to winter at some point; it's like we don't even get autumn anymore

 

Follow up on my dating site woes - she messaged me back at last so everything's good for the moment. I'll have to try and convince her to either message me more often or switch to something like Facebook but she still seems happy to chat with me so I think it could work out.

Well, the concrete work you might just have to grin and bear it for the meantime since you mentioned the people are nice folks and obviously the work won't go on forever. Maybe simply call them up for a chat and present your concerns and you can work something out.

As for the other noisy neighbors, talk with other people in your neighborhood since I have to assume they too are annoyed by this particular family. Surely the town homeowner's association or whatever you have for a neighborhood oversight group will have to intervene if multiple people are forwarding complaints.

 

Why not arbitrate a touch? Point out to the person in the right as to how he's invalidating his effort with fuckery. Make sure you use that word, it'll really get his attention.

 

Given the events so far in 2020, I suspect Winter will set in shortly after the massive meteorite impact.

Well, that happens, but honestly, I wish sellers would actually put up a price and say they are open to offers. When you throw an item up with no price and say stuff like "reasonable offers" it just leaves a lot of room for interpretation. If sellers put a price on their items than you have a point at which you both agree to start haggling. Frankly, I think a lot of people on here don't put up prices because they want whatever top dollar for an item is, but they're afraid it'll make some people shy away from their sales thread if they are seen asking for top dollar... which just comes off as disingenuous.

 

I'm so scared and tired right now.
I've got a canker sore breakout which is extremely painful, the world is falling apart in every possible way, a lot of people at my job who've been there for years have been laid off, I'm still furloughed, and there's speculation that my workplace won't survive this pandemic.
Y'all, I feel like crying but I don't know if I even have the strength to do that right now.
I'm so tired.
