Nice article. As someone who pours over images of preproduction items, I've actually noticed a lot of this. Of the four combiners teams the Stunticons had some of the most changes, sticker wise. Almost every figure that had a rubsign indent molded into them, I feel like it really detracted from the sculpt. The Breakdown one drives me nuts since it affected the roof vent that I always found so iconic on Countachs.
Yeah that's very true regarding the roof detail, sadly the indent is such that even if I cut out a big enough trapezoid from the spare red shiny sticker material, it would have looked weird to cover the indent. Was much easier with Drag Strip. All the best Maz
Fireflight's testshot actually had a different shoulder joint, but you can't replicate that with the production version
I don't think I am the first to discover this about Breakdown, though Cheers, and fully agree, it adds that excellent extra touch of colour and detail he needs, as does the Decepticon sticker! All the best Maz
I think Breakdown needs his Deception symbol in robot mode. It just seems off not having it. I also don't care for the rub sticker moulded in on the figures either. It kills the aesthetic look.
If it were up to me and it could have been done tidily, I would have had the full length Countach detail red sticker on the roof, rubsign on the door and Decep sticker in robot mode. All the best Maz
