John: "Well congratulations, you learned about time manipulation! Now what's the next step of your masterplan?" Robert: "Dramatically crashing this plane... with no survivors!" ____ should this thread be renamed T E N Ǝ ꓕ?
That trailer seemed more mysterious than it needed to be. But a conspiracy involving time travel and an event involving some sort of tenet - which means law, so could mean a law being passed - does look like an engaging enough spy thriller. The new term for rewinding time is inversion. Physically it looks stunning. But there is bound to be some plot holes, which we may just have to accept.
New TENET Stills Released As Christopher Nolan Promises To Take The Spy Genre Into "New Territory" “It’s a film of great ambition and great scale that takes a genre, namely the spy film, and tries to take it into some new territory, and tries to take the audience on a ride they might not have had before, and might not be expecting." Christopher Nolan
https://www.imdb.com/news/ni62912995 Kenneth Branagh Says ‘Tenet’ Reinvents the Wheel, Compares Script to Crossword Puzzle Branagh said that Nolan’s “Tenet” screenplay was so dense and complicated that he had to re-read it more than any other script he’s ever worked on. That’s quite a statement considering Branagh been a working actor for nearly 40 years. “I kid you not, I read this screenplay more times than I have ever read any other thing I have ever worked on,” Branagh said. “It was like doing the Times crossword puzzle every day, I would imagine. Except the film and the screenplay didn’t expect you, or need you, to be an expert.” Branagh explained, “Given the nature of it, as Chris to some extent sort of reinvents the wheel here, a lot of people start engaging with John David Washington’s character in both expected ways … so you might expect me to be an antagonist, but then [the story] doesn’t quite follow what you might expect as the story plays out.” Time travel is a plot pain.
BREAKING: Christopher Nolan's Tenet Will Not Keep Release Date After All It has now been announced that the film will be pushed back two weeks to July 31. Instead, another of Nolan's fan-favorite films, Inception, will be shown in theaters on the previous July 17 date.
Now delayed yet the fuck again to August 12th. So sick of the fucking delays. Just fucking cancel every major movie this year and release them the fuck to digital already!
No thanks. The cost of digital is too expensive for a rental. They might as well just put them out on video instead. And we just have to deal with it. It sucks, but it is what it is. This is what happens when you have a bunch of beligerent babies running our country instead of functioning adults.
Releasing a movie like Tenet or Mulan on digital is financial suicide. Plus I’d rather see a Christopher Nolan movie on a huge theater scene first. The delays are getting tiring though I agree. They should just delay it to the end of the year and stop delaying it every other week. Hoping we can see it soon though
Not surprising in the least. I understand Nolan's desire to get people back into theaters and ensure this/his movie is seen in that venue, but he has been completely delusional and surprisingly ignorant to the facts & reality of the world around him when it comes to his expectations here. From day one he's almost been rolling his eyes at this thing he seemingly views as an overblown inconvenience vs. what it actually is and the gravitas of what it has done to the world. At this point they should just resign to the fact that this entire year is pretty much toast, and aim for next summer like virtually else is doing and/or has to do.
That’s probably better than delaying it again every other week. Unfortunate to hear but again, not surprising. If only people would wear masks so we could get back to theaters
Thank goodness. Not that I don’t want to see this released obviously but considering how bad things are getting this is a move for the best that I was hoping for.
