MFT Lambos are actually under their Mechanic Studio (MS) line. They definitely look the part but are not their best releases quality wise.

MFT Datsuns do not exist and I haven't seen any prototypes or indication that they are in development. Closest thing that will scale with MS Lambos is the Iron Trans (what we believe is formerly Hot Soldiers) efforts.

I think it can be confusing because the fandom refers to Magic Square Toys as MS, instead of MST like they should.

 

Magic Square uses MS-TOYS as their Weibo name, but their logo and boxes say "Magic Square", not "Magic Square Toys".

The Iron Trans and MFT Datsun Bros were so similar to the Hot Soldiers unreleased ones that people were suggesting they just didn't bother making them under either name and just released them under Iron Trans (suggesting Iron Trans is also an MFT/ MBB brand name).

I've had my suspicions That Hot Soldiers as a brand is at very least a close business associate or part of the same factory chain output since they refused to do an MFT Soundwave because Hotsolders had done one already.

I'm kinda shocked that the legends/Legends Minus Soundwave has not bee OSKO'd already to be honest. as it seems peculiar to do Blaster and not Soundwave as well in 12cm form with a better mould. The Hot Soldiers one is OK but is showing it's age a bit (sort of like some of the early Iron factory designs do too - like Galvatron, Scourge and Cyclonus).

There is also some companies doing novelty movie toys that might have something to do with MBB (or Machine Boy if you prefer) as they might want to keep that branding very distinct. I'd not actually mind some legends plus Movie toys though - something like Shockwave or ROTF Megatron in that size might be kinda fun to fiddle with - sort of like how the occasional Beast Wars one is a diverting novelty too.

Four points I want to verify before I do some shopping:

1. Scale-wise, the Lambos that are out are pretty much MFT scale then?

2. There is an actual MFT Sunstreaker in the plans for this year?

3. The Datsuns that I have seen available are "pretty close" to MFT scale? Not like the tiny Iron Factory figures tend to be?

4. What other companies are in scale with MFT? Hot Soldiers?

 

I will say I mainly collect "Legends Scale" although I have a few Legends+ figures mixed in that I like better scale wise, etc. I would suggest checking out the "Show off your 3P Legends" thread as there are lots of pictures of the figures you're interested in there.

The Dinobots are all MFT apart from Swoop who is POTP. He just looks better to me.

 

I think I've decided to get the Jinbao Optimus and the Hot Soldiers Soundwave.

Is the Megatron who looks like a tiny version of the Masterpiece Megs a little too tall for Legends+? Dunno if I should get him or MFT cartoon colors Megs.

 

good choice on the HS soundwave he will always be a special bot to me.

 

Yeah the Hot Soldiers SW is the only one I ever needed in my collection, although the MStoys voice ripple may be worth looking into as well.

If your just now jumping into legends/legends+ you definitely want to choose what scales you want. Oddly enough it was the Mech Fan Toys Lambos that made me decide that legends+ car bots were too big. You don't want to be like me. I ended up selling all my MFT and Hot Soldiers car/minibots and replacing them with Magic Square and Newage bots.
