I hope we get Deadpool in the MCU at somepoint. Love to see him break the fourth wall. (deadpool wanders into Avengers HQ) Deadpool: Heard you guys could use some help. (avenger): Who are you? Deadpool: Deadpool. I'm a fan favorite. The studio heads had me show up to boost box office sales. See I was one of the people aquired when a bigger studio swallowed up another. This allowed previously seperate properties to finally work together. (Sees Spider-Man) See THIS guy knows what i'm talking about. Spiderman: (confused) N-n-no i don't. Deadpool: sure ya do kid. I here to liven up things around here. Plus it keeps me from ever having to show up with a certain other guy. Whoo boy was that a mistake. Not as bad as getting drunk and going home with the first girl you meet at a bar, but still bad. I can't say things i'd normally say because this thing is PG-13 and I'm more of a lovable raunchy R rating guy. (avenger): Please leave. Deadpool: Aww man we could have such fun together. (avenger): Get lost. Deadpool: Fine just don't call me back later just to boost ticket sales.. (exits out door to room of the Fantastic Four and X-Men in comic outfits) (X-Men): Well? Deadpool: They said no. (Human Torch depowers to become Chris Evans) Chris Evans: Well back to being Captain America again. (Grabs shield and walks off)
The last minute of that Last Stand theme is rad, way better than that movie deserved. It was one of two things I liked about that movie -- the other thing was Kelsey Grammer as Beast.
https://www.imdb.com/news/ni62519751 plans for a Nicholas Hoult-headlined Beast spin-off movie have been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter. According to the report, X-Men composer John Ottman had written a script along with his assistant, Byron Burton, which was set in the 80s, and featured characters such as Professor X and Wolverine. Burton revealed the film would see Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult) struggling to maintain his feral side during the fallout from Days of Future Past, and would ultimately work as a film in which they’d introduce X-Men villain, Mr. Sinister, who’d been manipulating the events of the movie. He said that that the “idea was we would have Sinister as this multi-film villain orchestrating things”, while Ottman added that the intention was to “have the tenor of John Carpenter’s The Thing“. That sounds interesting.
Did Fox Kill An X-Men: The Animated Series Live-Action Film? Apparently it was for 1994, it was going to be like POWER RANGERS meets the 90s cartoon, and it was going to have both the Brotherhood and the Sentinels. It sounds midway decent IMO. Anyway, one thing I noticed is that these films work at their best when it's just focused on "humans vs mutants". For bringing in big stuff (Apcocalypse, the Phoenix) they seem awkward about it, since that sort of thing goes beyond the norm. Then again, the MCU had a similar issue: it took Guardians of the Galaxy to build up the cosmic side of the universe, for Thanos's emergence to gain weight and become a major threat. The X-Men don't really have any serious alien issues except where the Phoenix was concerned. Perhaps they should have focused more on time-travel, bringing in Cable to play a major part and allowing Stryfe to appear, as well as attempting a House of M angle where Magneto rules the world in one timeline.
The Russo Brothers Have an X-Men Movie They'd Like to Direct "We've always loved us some Wolverine." So did a lot of people...
Huh. If they could retrograde back a bit from trying too hard to be super super super avant-garde "smrt" as they've progressively been doing since Civil War thru Endgame, and get back to a 'less is more' Winter Solider mindset and tone, they could absolutely knock a Wolverine movie or three out of the park probably better than anyone.
Professor Xavier - McAvoy or Stewart? Stewart definitely. Magneto - Fassbender or McKellen? McKellen (though it's a narrow win, because Fassbender did great). Mystique- Romijin or Lawrence? Romijin, Lawrence wasn't that impressive despite her expanded character. Beast - Grammar or Hoult? Hoult. Jean Gray - Janssen or Turner? Janssen. Storm - Berry or Shipp? I'd have to say Shipp. Cyclops - Marsden or Sheridan? It doesn't matter, neither made enough of an impact.
Agreed Definitely a tough choice Depends on when in the series. FC/DofP was good... Apocalypse/DP... not so much. I'm not sure on that. Hoult had 4 films to show character, whereas Grammer wasn't given much time to shine. I still love his bit during the final battle where he starts quoting Churchill and gets interrupted, but that may just be the Frasier fan in me being amused at the Frasier-ish ness of it Always. Awwww... you didn't like Berry's magically vanishing accent or complete lack of charisma? How come...? Tell that to the train station roof
Originals > Prequel versions by miles. No question. Even the horrendous Halle Berry... which says something. No debate that McAvoy & Fassbender were good and the only two redeeming qualities about any of the prequel stuff, but they're still distant shadows of Stewart & McKellen and arguably as different in their performances of the characters as Lawrence's was to Romijin's. Just of course nowhere near as bad as Lawrence's was.
I still have the Mystique action figure from the toyline of the original film when it premiered. This would make a great update.
X-Men: Days of Future Past Writer Reveals Shocking Mystique Detail Discussing Days of Future Past with IGN, Kinberg explained the shocking moment Mystique infiltrated the office of Bolivar Trask and discovered Azazel's autopsy photographs. "There's Azazel," said Kinberg, "Who we know is her dad, but she never gets to learn that." Right out of the blue.
Wait, wait, what? So they were changing him to her father? That's a pretty big change from the comics... considering they were lovers and Nightcrawler's parents. Just another reason I'm glad to see Fox and it's writers no longer having a hand in the X-Men franchise. Ugh.
The further we get away from the Fox Xmen movies... I realize more and more how much I didn’t really like them. X2 is the only one I go back and rewatch. Maybe parts of the first 2 Wolverine movies as well. I particularly can’t stand how they made Mystique a hero. WTF?
DEADPOOL Star Ryan Reynolds Hilariously Crashes An X-MEN Cast Reunion With Unexpected Results Ryan and Liev set up Hugh.
Hugh Jackman Shares Funny Behind-The-Scenes Video To Mark X-MEN's 20th Anniversary I thought there'd be a bigger hype rather than the actors remembering being in these films. It's not like they were atrocious (a few yes, but there were great ones too).
How is that worse? Oh, yes, let's be completely faithful to that original Azazel abortion of a story that came from one of the worst-written runs in all of X-history. How dare the FOX writers change the genius of Chuck Austin???!!!! I never thought I'd see the day I'd see someone white knight Chuck Austin.
