The Lobclaw repaint is going to be revealed before GN ships.

Like, they're almost certainly teasing it already with that Matrix Buster in the comic.

Given that it's many new parts, there's a good chance it won't even be an issue.

How did you come to that (insane) conclusion?

They're not going to pass up on an opportunity to reuse that mold, especially since there's literally nothing to do that with naturally.

And Legends/Selects universe is known for wild and crazy stuff.

They make a point of God Neptune stealing the Matrix buster, which matches his color scheme perfectly.

I can easily picture a chapter of the comic centered in the Matrix Buster being turned in to the Nautilator/Lobclaw repaint.

It's not insane in the slightest.

No, they made a point of them stealing several Star Power Matrices to further the plot and where it's going. It has no more significance then the Black Legend Disc, the Golden Hand (With Onyx Prime), the Creation Matrix, or the Matrix Blade and RA that are in the same panel and are equal parts of the plot. That was the entire point of the comic, that they got ahead of Megatron Omega and even Primus/Oracle to collect them after feigning death and searching The Oracles Ark. This has been a story that they've been building for some time.

They're all plot macguffins that happen to have toys that already exist and are color coded to what they're doing.

Legends comics aren't shy to reference everything in the franchise history, jumping universes, or giving new meanings to old toys and fictions, both Hasbro and Takara, but they haven't created an original character.

But hey, hold out hope if you'd like. Just don't be too crushed when it doesn't happen.

Technically, they did create a new character: the Energon Omega Sentinel repaint of Titans Return Astrotrain with a new head, that's part of the Blue Vanguard.

Lynxmaster, Megatronia, Grand Galvatron...all "EX" characters created from whole cloth. They even crossed over with the Legends comic... appearing in it even now.

It's not a new character though, it's an existing character (Energon Omega Sentinel) as a comic of an existing toy (TR Astrotrain with Ptero's head), which Legends has done for years. Such as the TR Hardhead/quake body with TR Getaways head as Bludgeon from the Convobat story from back in 2016. No actual toy was made. (Despite it looking awesome)

Which is an antithesis to making toys of noncharacters simply because they have the molds. Frankly if they wanted to, they could've been doing an easy redeco subline based on the comics, but in all this time, they haven't.

Takara's Selects have all been vintage nostalgia driven, not milking a mold. They took the time to retool Tentakil into Scylla when they didn't really have to, but wanted to go that extra distance for screen accuracy, just like doing a Battlestars Megatron that evolved just like Star Convoy did and was both Super and Ultra Megatron with a little bonus surprise. All to appeal to old source material fans, who have shown repeatedly that there's a profit there, they're already making a profit by getting enough orders to justify the run, milking molds isn't the strategy anymore.

Which is exactly what I was saying, they weren't new characters, but added in, just like all the other toy based characters.

Furthermore, that was from when Transformers was a healthier line that Takara really could do their own thing and were just partners with Hasbro. Not the Takara of today who can't sell mainline Transformers in stores and just do exactly what Hasbro does in terms of product. There isn't a market for them to make new characters and get strong interest, they're only doing pre-order to production nostalgia driven offerings. The rest is just Hasbro with different instructions.

Except Hasbro's recent bend towards G1 accuracy (including scale and wild swings in size within the same price point) are heavily influenced by Takara.

Both they and Hasbro are selling the same stuff at retail, where they're diverting is how Selects are handled.

Hasbro this far has used Selects to sell deep cut repaints that could just have easily fit within retail waves, Takara is doing more radical retools that wouldn't.

And then both sell/distribute them directly from each other.

So I got a a basic drift on where and how of the story. It seems like all of this occurs in a previous universe that existed before the Big Bang. Primacron and "Primus"/Oracle will eventually become the sole survivors of these universe and continue existing in the new(current universe) where G1 exists. This might also link/will link the Zodiac from the past universe into this one where it is said to have created the latter.

Megs is doing everything he can to stop the new universe from being born. Then it all ends again in the moment Primus plucks both Convoy and Galvatron before Headmasters. As if in just a second in the flowof time yet a lot having occured for both rivals.

....People don't know this? They even said it was a universe before the one Megs and OP are from several comics ago. I think it was Star Convoys actually..

The white Convoy is towing Super Link/Energon Primes trailer. Is that possible with the real figures? I can´t try it out myself because I don´t have any of CW Prime molds.

Good eye! I'm curious as well. The all white Convoy combiner is awesome! Too bad he's dispatched quite quickly.

It took time for my wee brain to register this convoluted writing of theirs. At least the legends saga was more well easy to understand:crazy:

Geez...I was more concentrated on the multitude of robots there are.

Had to double-check to be sure. The conspiracy theorist in me wants to think this foreshadowing a new Energon OP, but we haven’t even gotten that darn Armada OP. :(
