Transformers movies a lot of hate, but I think that some are good pieces of cinema. Say what you will about the things they do wrong, however I've yet to watch many films like them, and these sortosort film are becoming less common. In terms of things they did well I always argued that out of the two films that released around the same time, DotM showcased an invasion way better than The Avengers did, for example.

Also, I find it strange that for all the speak of reboots they're showing a film that they are claiming isn't in continuity anymore. Don't they care about "confusing the audience"?

Have you seen Rise of Skywalker? Half of that film was an attempt at correcting things from the previous film. The film couldn't even be cohesive with Kylo Ren's scar. All the TF films have a cohesive story, only TLK feels like convoluted fanfiction.

It portrayed the invasion way better yes, but the issue is they had horribly written characters.

Screw you guys. Transformers (2007) was a fun film. I would absolutely love to see it in theaters again.

Neither of them are classics, but purely as a business decision I would think Transformers has the edge. Transformers has a proven fanbase that have turned out for these movies regardless of quality. Then you have that young adult nostalgia for all things they grew up with.

Maybe there's a Brad Pitt fanbase, and a zombie movie fanbase that in combination can compare with the proven appeal of Transformers? Maybe a zombie movie is more timely in these timely times.

I'm not the expert. Neither of these options would lure me out.

Has it really been 8 years already....

Well considering they're separate universes, they can both be Transformers 1 because they're both the first movie in their respective continuity

There are other options too. I hope Interstellar wins tbh because that movie is a damn spectacle and one of the few movies that I cry at every time

None of them has a cohesive story.
Every movie ends with Optimus Prime giving a message to Transformers in space and the next movie begins with Transformers that have been on Earth for decades, centuries or millennia.
And in each movie none of the main characters knew there were Transformers on Earth since the 1800's, 3000 BCE, the 1960's, the time of the dinosaurs, Camelot, or that Earth itself is a Transformer.
Prime's message to the Autobots in space is never answered and apparently never heard by the myriad Transformers already here.

I would LOVE to see Transformers in theaters. I never got a chance. Wasn't into the franchise yet. I hope they'll pick the top two because I honestly expect it to be Transformers vs. Interstellar and "film Twitter" is going to make sure it's Interstellar.

Yeah, the first Transformers movie is unironically a good movie. I don't think I'm alone in saying that the Arrival of the Autobots is one of the best scenes in any Transformers-related media.

Ironically I didn't watch the first movie in cinemas. If Transformers wins I'll finally watch every film except TLK.

That's funny. Where were they for TLK and Bumblebee?

Yeah.... you can tell the fans and even general audience checked out for TLK. And then TLK scared off the audience for BB which was an actual good film. Reboot and 4 year gap hopefully will get it rolling again.

TLK grossed over $600 million worldwide. Do you think that is insubstantial? - It's more than World War Z took in.

Damn thing just cost too much.

Even with the stench of TLK still fresh in public memory, and the franchise's credibility in tatters, Bumblebee still took the best part of half a billion worldwide. That in a crowded release schedule against some heavy hitters. These are certainly below par grosses, but only in the context of a massively lucrative series.

So we are going the same route as china and rereleasing classic films to get people to go back to the movies. Makes sense. China is getting avatar, all 4 avengers films, spirited away, your name, how to train your dragon among others.

Expect more studios to follow. If they get enough people asking on their twitter and facebook g-kids may release studio ghibili films like spirited away and totoro also!

Wonder if wb will put harry potter and lord of the rings back on the big screen?

Update: Grease leads against Mean Girls by a 1%(!) margin.

Round two will likely be Transformers vs. Grease.

Ha ha, calling them "classic". It's nice to know that even in these hard times Hollywood hasn't ran out of cocaine.

Although it is an interesting match up as it is two franchises that competed on who could disregard the most source material. Oddly also two franchises where the movie folks tried to convince the source material fans they shouldn't get upset that they didn't get the movie they wanted.

Even if it was my favorite films of all time showing I just don't feel comfortable about going to a movie theater. Which is a darn shame because I love movies and it used to be my escape from all the troubles of the world. As nice as home releases can be it just doesn't have the same magic as the big screen.

Of course I'd vote for 2007 no doubt since it's one of my favorite next to DOTM, but why are they comparing it to something like WWZ?

I'm not sure what else Paramount has robot wise (forgive my lack of knowlege) but do they not have any other robot movies to compare, compared to a 2013 "walking dead era" zombie film?

Also, one more thing: aren't most movie theaters closed? What's the point in doing this vote if majority can't go to the theaters, presumably still not opening for months now? Regardless I still think it's cool to re-release movies in theaters, brings back memories of seeing them in the first place.

So the final round will be Transformers vs. Interstellar.

That's genuinely incredibly tough for me. What I wouldn't give to experience Transformers 1 on the big screen again, such a magical experience for tween me.

But on the other hand, Interstellar might just be the single best IMAX Experience I've ever... well, experienced. No one does an IMAX film better than Nolan.

I'd be overjoyed to see either, but absolutely elated to see both!
