You mean they pay Hasbro so they can carry the item? I never knew that...
Especially odd that a lot of these exclusives get released at retail in other countries. Back during Cybertron we got the Target exclusive Vector Prime/Starscream 2-packs everywhere in my country.

 

In that Pic they look quite good together. If it weren't for those stumpy feet, I might be swayed.

 

I guess "Technically" I'd consider Skywarp to have two colours of Purple I can accept the usual medium Lavender is nice, or the slightly to redish colour used on the Classics era one. I don't especially object to them using other shades of even the silver nose cone, is it weird - well yeah ; But objectionable - no not so much - if I am honest I kinda like the silver nose on the Siege Skywarp it reminded me a bit of how Armada Skywarp was done (i.e. not like you would have expected him to be).

 

Why is a cartoon influenced design looking that way? Hmm.

What could have influenced a decision like that, to make the central part of the jet gray?

 

If I manage to snag these two, I think Skywarp will get some dentures!

No, you're not alone. The colours won't fit on my shelf and I find it very frustrating. I wish I had your talent, to paint. I might just not buy it at all...

 

Going to have to buy an extra Starscream for the Head, That Skywarp Head is going to annoy the hell out of me.

Just watch Youtube videos. You can learn in no time. Buy a cheap *gravity feed* airbrush & compressor & play with it.

Okay, then why doesn't it go all the way from the very tip to the very top? Like in that picture? Toon accuracy except it isn't very "accurate". 

It doesn't look anything like the cartoon. It doesn't look anything like the toy. It's just some freak experiment Hasbro put out.

 

I appreciate that, but I won't invest this much time for the only paint touch-up I "need" in my life. Are you offering your services?? *wink, wink

I mean, there is literally not an inch reused from the Classic seeker mold and it transforms differently but fine, everybody keep calling it an upsized Classic seeker mold.

Just like how Rodimus Prime is an upsized Sideswipe or Counterpunch is a downsized Combiner Wars Hot Spot.

 

I wonder how long before we felt pre orders for these guys, or at least preorders

On another note I might get a second starscream to swap its head with skywarp, so that I han have skywarp with a normal expression and then make a custom \"Grey\" (after he was shot by galvatron) starscream with the yelling face

 

Unfortunately it usually goes back to the bulk plastic manufacturers offering a better deal on a slightly different shade of the desired color. If they can get that slightly different color for less they will to lower the production cost. It has been happening for decades in the toy manufacturing industry. They have a price point they must stay within; yes they can get that specific color it is supposed to be but that price increase gets promoted down the line and results in a higher shelf price and that starts a whole different level of anarchy when we have to pay more for our plastic crack. Or on the flipside of the coin it is the designer of that particular figure that prefers to buck the standard and do it his/her way; typically with paint apps but also for plastic color selection. And then there are the focus groups (if they use them) that prefer the non-canon color over the canon color of the G1 figure. It is a large rabbit hole that branches into a cluster F of a maze. I accepted the situation a while ago; If I do not like it I do not buy it (if enough people do the same then Hasbro/Takara MIGHT get the message that we prefer canon over non-canon colors), I buy it and accept it for what it is, or I hand the figure along with a few bucks and a picture of what I want over to my cousin and he paints it to match the pic(s). Paint and I have a mutual understanding that we do not play nice together; touch up I can handle.

 

Why do some of you guys not like Skywarp's new face? I don't see a problem.

But it always seems to be poor Skywarp that gets the wrong colors. We don't usually have a problem with Thundercracker or Starscream. 

 

I miss the days when everyone didn't feel the need to make Skywarp endlessly screaming.
