It's pretty much gray. The driver area is black. Here's the only clean image I could get. They show the top during the movie when he leaves with the five pillars attached to the top also.

Because people like him more. That was the point of the vote. That is the best leader according to the majority. More people like him than the other leaders, that's all it is.

My guess is because of how anticipated he was. Blackout was portrayed as a huge behemoth in the 07 movie, and his very first figure was a huge disappointment in the form of a voyager. Ten years later he finally got leader class treatment.

Not only this, but the figure in hand is pretty good, excellent detail, HUGE altmode, it’s also notably accurate, and there’s no cheap gimmicks, just one good figure.

I did have him, but I ever l ended up selling him. He just wasn't poseable at all. And the glossy finish on his face just made him photograph weird, imo.

But like I said before, still not bad for $40.
There's a tab on the back of his foot that locks to the panel on the back of his leg. If you cut that tab, it helps A LOT in keeping those side panels from pulling apart.

In addition to that, I also applied glue to those areas, and tabbed and untabbed them multiple times, till the glue dried, which made the friction connection much stronger.

Credit to @Shmoptimus Prime for cutting the tab on the back of the leg mod.
Gotta disagree here. Sidearm SW pulled off the movie look more accurately than the SS version. With the exception of the paint, BMB corrected both issues.

There is a news report (probably going to be locked soon) I almost thought it was related to a potential Studio Series The Fallen.

Really? Well I'm glad I didn't get him. Man, I remember how excited you were! It's a shame that he ended up being disappointing but at least you got your money back!

So as much as I like having my weekends go slowly, I actually want it to pass by fast for Monday morning. You know what's happening then.

Yeah, Blackout was really something special. He's the first bot in the film, so he quickly became a fan favorite. People were begging for an appropriately sized toy for years (to the point of it becoming a meme), but it just never happened for whatever reason. All the while the Movie toylines had fallen into a sorry state, with DotM having been cut short, AoE being rather kiddie, and TLK shelfwarming hard. Then suddenly there's this giant leak promising a new more collector-orientated Movie toyline, and the toy headlining it is none other than Motherfucking Leader Blackout. Holy shit this is too good to be true, people thought, especially since the slides said this was supposed to have come out the year before (plus the leak included other impossible dreams like the Dinobots and Predaking). But sure enough, Hasbro confirmed it was true, all of it. That exact thing we been hoping for, no dumb bullshit or anything!

Other Leaders might be objectively better, but none come remotely close to the amount of hype surrounding Blackout.

Yea, I was really excited for about the first week but then after that, I got tired of not being able to really pose him. That and the damn swords not fitting the proper way on his hands sucked too.

Honestly, I'm not bothered by the lack of paint. Sure, more is always better, but I never paid close enough attention to any of the bots paint schemes in the movies to be too upset by their bland-er looking toys.

I also like how a lot of the Transformers have their own unique transformation sounds like the violent clanking metal from Megatron and the high-pitched scraping from Starscream.

I knew that the voice actor who voiced Bumblebee in the first movie, Mark Ryan, also voiced Jetfire, but I only found out recently that he voiced Lockdown as well.

The transformations are also a part that draws me to the movies. Seeing Optimus's intricate sequence, especially from his first scene in the alley, is amazing. I could watch it over and over and it never gets old. AOE went in the wrong direction with the transformium transformations. It didn't only take away the opportunity to see more transformations, but the CGI wasn't very convincing at the same time.

Back in the day of the ROTF toys, I used to leave my figures in vehicle mode and usually only transformed them to robot mode when I watched the movies (so a fair number of times) and transformed them back when the movie was over. Those were some robust figures and I had no hesitation with switching them back and forth. With Studio Series, the figures feel considerably more fragile due to their smaller parts, tighter clearances, and more intricate details, so i try and limit the transformations. That being said, Studio Series aligns more with my tastes now, retail movie-accurate display pieces that can still transform if I want to.

Thanks for the update. For some reason, I waited too long and by the time I went to order Sideswipe on BBTS, the pre-order was sold out. I contacted Amazon again and it turns out that when I ordered him there several weeks ago, he was never in stock. Fortunately, the customer service rep was incredibly helpful and added a gift card to my account to cover the difference to order Sideswipe at the scalper price that another vendor was selling him for.

I added a bit (lot) of silver to Sentinel on the roof and back/front and will probably leave it at that. Lovely figure otherwise! Here he is with my extensive collection of SPs.
