Are they ever going to make a G1 Optimus Prime? Sorry if it's been asked before, I'm new to this thread.

 

No problem, iron factory never do pure g1 looking toy.they however did an optimus with the look he had on cybertron in the idw comics. It was a long time ago and he may be a little small compared to recent IF carbots.

I mean, maybe? They've made new versions of Magnus and Soundwave. It's conceivable they'd do another version of Optimus. Not sure how we'd know what their long term plans are though.

If you get sick of waiting, this is another option.

 

The Stormbringer/IDW version is also costly now. It was one of their first releases and usually goes for over $100 on the secondary market, usually more than that because many people bundle it with IF Elita one. TBH, based on my own experience with the figure, and it's Steel Lucifer counterpart, it's not aged very well, a bit fidly, doesn't hold together the best.. As a display piece, it works, but IF can do a lot better now, and I hope they make a new Optimus. Of course, if they do, you gonna see the prices on the Inaugural optimus go down more than likely.

 

IF prime v1 will never go down in price. it will only go up because of the collector value that it holds.

but i do believe they will have a v2 that will most likely be just like their megatron. i cant wait for that to finally happen. but at the same time i wish they would just shrink down GT prime that bot is amazing.

 

Probably not. if i am IF, i won't. There are already 2 other 3rd legend g1 optimus and they both look good. Why compete at this point ?
Also, they more prefer IDW comic look. And IDW have 2 optimus earth form. If anything they would make that two. Especially the post-war design. look closer to g1. (and i hope so, never like his design back when the earth day)

Hope so. I really love that cybertron design. But they just release some repaint ver not long ago though. and i fine with paint it red myself. Though i still holding back on get one.
Because i think the figure really need a upgrade, especially how much better IF have done recently. The base form without the combine look quite dull. And i hope they make the design look like in the latter day, transfomer 2007, more than meet the eye. Not in strombringer.
Also, i think it can be quite easy. I find the ex 31 of tarn look very close. like their Jazz and Sideway. They can pretty much remake it with new sculpt and they can bring a new v2 Optimus to live
