Haha! I finally transformed him where all the panels clipped in correctly! There is something about this bot I just love. I'm sure part of it is that I'm a long time Beetle fanboy. I would absolutely love to see this dude painted up as Herbie, maybe with a new head.

I wouldn't buy a Herbie repaint but I'd love to see one of this figure, Zeta's, or Transcraft's.

Herbie was the first movie I remember seeing. I've had a love affair with Beetles ever since. Once I've finished My house the way I want it, I will buy an old Beetle much to my wife's dismay.

I was thinking about buying the Zeta bug but the proportions of the vehicle mode are so far off. It would have driven me crazy. It looks like it was designed by someone who once saw a Beetle and just sculpted it from foggy memories. This one is almost spot on to a 67 bug.

I have received this figure today from show z store. Everything good so far until I noticed something in its legs.

The left leg (the right on the pictures) has the incorrect piece in its inner lower leg, it has the same piece as the right leg. This is not only a visual issue, but it also avoids to transform the figure entirely, as the chassis won't be able to close totally.

Here you can see what piece is in car mode:

Anyone had some similar issue? I guess I should send a message to @ShowZStore, as the figure was purchased there, to get a replacement piece. What would be the best way to proceed?

    Regards.

After some tolerance tweaking, plastic shaving, and oh thickening, I’m incredibly happy. I did make some small changes to the cannon (some plastic shaving) and widened the hole where his thumb goes. The first time I attached the cannon that way I had to take apart half the arm just to detach it. It bugged me that you couldn’t get the thumb in there but now it clips on and pops off with ease!

Just got this little chunky bee today and he's definitely solid for his size. If you've handled TE-01 before you know what i'm talking about. He just feels super solid in hand with nice heft and stability once you pose him up. But also like TE-01 he kinda suffers slightly on the articulation side of things. He poses fine but i notice there are some parts which might cause paint rub and chips, notably the hips section and the panels at the side of his abdomen tend to rub against each other when i rotate the waist. And because of that clearance issue, there isn't much waist rotation which is unfortunate. Just some minor gripes but overall he is amazing, the joints are really tight, even without ratchets. Damn... just tried to transform him for the first time, and it's downright terrible

Also one of the rooftop pieces on the legs was broken out of the box. It just fell out, and looks like the metal pin is too short (probably broke at the end)

Yes, same problem over here. I don't really care about the front piece, can just push the pin back in. But the rear/rooftop piece is broken...

Submitted the problem to ShowZ. Hope they'll sort it out :)

Yeah, I love this little guy. I normally have him in my backpack of all places, wrapped in some bubble wrap. Fun to just whip out and take pictures of. Not sure I recommend transforming him, if peoples' testimonies are to be believed.

I just received my copy of this from TF-Direct two months after pre-ordering. Here's what I was sent:

    te02a.jpg

Spot the missing parts? Yep, he's completely missing the rear wheel rim parts on both legs:

    expected-te02.jpg

Not only that, but the torso of the robot is on a hinge and doesn't seem to tab into the pelvis at all, so that when I pick him up, or stand him up so that he's not leaning forward, this happens:

    te02b.jpg

The whole upper half of the robot just tips back like those egg robots from Robo Story.

It sets a new record for the worst figure I've ever received in terms of quality. It's a real shame, because I *really* like how he looks - if it weren't for these issues I'd love the robot mode.

I've emailed TF-Direct so we'll see if they can hook me up with a replacement, but I'm not very hopeful given that the last time I contacted them about something they didn't even bother replying, in which case it could be $90 down the drain.

[EDIT: Oops, I realised the floppy chest isn't an issue at all. The back just wasn't tabbed in properly out of the box. So I just need to get TF-Direct to send out the missing pieces.]
