I have Soundblaster on the way because he looks like a badass, especially with the decals. Guess I'm a minority now...

So could the NA tapes fit inside Magic Square?
They'd be a bit small, but it would be nice

 

i dont see how putting the NA tapes in MS soundwave would ever be a plus. i might be in the minority when it comes to this. MS made mini mp's and NA didnt even come close.

but i really think the NA tapes are laughable at best personally. but that is definitely my opinion and i am sure others would feel like i am wrong.

but i except it and life goes on no harm no foul.

it really is a shame because NA sure has the chops. if they weren't in such a hurry to beat MS on their announcement. i bet they could have come up with an amazing soundwave and minions.

this just looks like they pulled out an old dx9 design and blew the dust off the cd and uploaded the file.

that said i do want their predaking like stat.

 

Have we seen tape modes for NA? I'm skeptical that Ravage could turn into a convincing cassette.

 

I've noticed I've been seeing new and returning names in the past 20 pages. Our legends community is growing. MS Soundwave and tapes are really makin' a buzz

 

Usually 2 out of the top 5 threads in the 3p board are for Legends figures nowadays

 

They call those "fart curtains" on Weibo. Cracks me up every time.

Not yet, but they definitely transform. You can see the hinges on Laserbeak and Ratbat. I don't think they're going for cassette tape accuracy though.

I should have phrased that better; I know they transform. What I meant was that I expect NA Ravage's "cassette" mode to look about as cassette-like as I would if tried to fold up my limbs. In other words: awful.

Clean alt modes are important to me, so I won't be going near NA. But then, I'm already a devoted MS acolyte anyway.

 

if NA cassette tapes are as small as the original DX9, then i'm in if packaged with soundwave. as long they don't do the same MS packaging shenanigans!  

 

Nobody bothers to even try for clean tape modes at legends scale. Have you seen MST's tapes in tape mode?

They absolutely will. Or they'll find a way to make it worse by including a core tape with the clear repaint and another with the shattered glass version.

 

I thought Laserbeak's was pretty good! Rumble/Frenzy, not quite (although they should send a free set to NOVC if they basically plagiarized his design!). But Laserbeak and Ravage are the main ones I care about.

 

I can't see it being much less convincing than MS Rumble's cassette mode.

We've seen 3 of 5 MS Cassette molds. Autoscout and Laserbeak are fine. Rumble though... and I don't have high expectations for MS Ravage either.

I expect the clear repaint to have clear cassettes so it wouldn't be an issue for standard ones.

I actually would’ve preferred the tape forms to be slightly better as opposed to the bot mode
I dislike it when tape modes just look like a folded up bot

I guess I could utilize imagination but still
I’m cool with MP Ravage because at least the front looks like a tape
I’m just nitpicky regarding cassette transformers

 

By the looks of the robot mode on NA rumble, I'm hoping that it was a sacrifice for the tape mode
