I always use Alipay which has my credit card information stored in it just like how Paypal works. So in essence I am using my card but through Alipay so I avoid getting charged 1%.

 

I am using the same method but my seller (and a couple of others) told me they still get charged 1% as long as you are not paying through Alipay balance. That’s similar to 3% Alipay fee charged on us.

The only way to avoid the 1% fee and 3% fee is to load Alipay with money and then pay. But as I said, big Sellers usually don’t care about the 1% charge on them.

 

Awesome. Thank you for the detailed info. Those prices are still below enough north american retailers that i think i'll continue to wait for thor toys to get their preorders in and then try to ship via SB.

They'll be very happy if you want to pay 480 yuan for it.  

Place your order, but do not pay for it. Wait for them to change the price, then pay for it.

You may message them once you place your order so that they can look into it asap.

Funny timing. I checked today and had a message from Thor Toys saying Iceman was in stock.

I reviewed your very good directions on using Superbuy, but I won't be using them for this order, and perhaps for any order. Long story short, I'm effectively banned from Superbuy because my first and only order with them in Dec 2018 went south and I disputed with PayPal and got my money back. Chatted with an SB agent and my account it locked until I reverse the dispute. Agent said they'll ask internally if there's a way to unlock my account as it was over a lost package. Said I should hear back within 24 hours.

With Thor Toys on Taobao, asked for a link for the balance payment but he said to submit the order and he'll adjust before I pay. That's where I'm currently at. Meaning, if you do use SB for buying preorders from Thor Toys, you likely cannot use the SB purchase agent route as there's no direct link for balance payment. I'm guessing the only option is the Parcel Forwarding route, which I was attempting before I ran into an issue with SB.

So, looks like I'm going to get hit with sales tax, high shipping costs, and an Iceman in who knows what condition because of wtf is going on with TB warehouses right now. Great. I suppose it is still cheaper than a North American retailer.

Probably a coincidence. They don't even reuse/steal LBP's graphics like some aliexpress sellers do. You could always check what city they are in, LBP is in GuangDong.

 

Superbuy is not the only third-party forwarder.

I have asked LBP. He couldn't access the site in China.
