I would argue the small details are the only real reason to focus on the 2002 character design. A lazy repaint of 80's design is lame. And, again, at that scale, we're not going to get the attention to detail the larger figure got.

They can call it homage, I call it another figure that will stay in the box with Teela if a store gets more than one case. And probably all the Evil Lyns and Adams from the previous case.

Why not go to WalMart? I bet the stores are cleaner now than they ever have been.

I don't care about any of the Evil Lyn argument. Just saying that there is no way anyone who looks at the two pictures would confuse it to be a different character.

As for going to Walmart, I'm not worried so much about it being clean. It's friggin hot and getting hotter and I'm not standing outside for hours in line to get in a store just for a chance at not seeing the toys I want to get.

To me, it's a lot like when Transformers takes a random figure from the their Unicron line, paints it green and calls it Springer. You can call it homage but it's not great for it.

You know, I think I have only had to wait in a line once recently. No, twice. Once at a Lowe's the other a Dollar General. The Dollar General was not worth even the five minutes of inconvenience.

I did drive up to a Target with a friend of mine once out hunting, we saw the line and just turned around.

But I can't recall that being an issue at WalMart.

Yeah, every Walmart, Target, grocery store and any other major shopping store I've seen has had long lines so I've avoided it all. I tried Walmart once because they showed an item I wanted in stock and I was out by it already so I gave it a shot. Waited about an hour and they didn't have the item that was shown as plenty in stock. So yeah, not doing that again.

As for your Evil Lyn gripe, I get it but again for most people I would say they could tell the difference between any random character painted green and called Springer more than they would say Either of those are not Evil Lyn.

Yeah, waiting over an hour for essentially nothing would suck. Can't fault your there.

I don't think there would be any confusion in determining the figure to be Evil Lyn I hope I didn't convey that in any way. I also don't think it is an homage to the 2002 figure. Certainly not a good one.

All good. I have no real interest in 2002 designs anyways but just giving the perspective that most people would see that and consider it the 2002 version Evil Lyn even though it isn't exactly the same. But none of these MCX figures are exactly the same as any of the original designs they are homaging so...

    Does anyone need these?

You would just have to pay shipping, I know some people like the packaging.

True, but they are considerably closer to one than the other. In truth, the proportions of Mega figures lend themselves to looking more like the original toyline [at least in regard to the male figures] than those proportions fit to any other license Mega is currently using. Except maybe TMNT whose original designer at Playmates left Mattel after HeMan to go work on, if memory serves.

BBTS has the next wave of MOTU and regular Heroes waves up, including singles.

Wave 5 (?) has Michelangelo, another Predator, another Clap Trap, Psycho (from Borderlands?) and Sam Fisher

    Ebay:
They've also got the second wave of MOTU figures up. Singles as well, except for Stinkor. I'm gonna try to get them individually since I don't need another Evil Lyn or Teela but I put in the order anyway in case I don't find them elsewhere. Hopefully BBTS doesn't cancel like they've done before. Also pre-ordered Michaelangelo and Sam Fisher.

[Edit] so I remember that the new Evil Lyn is repainted to look like the 2002 version but can anybody link to a pic of what the new Teela looks like?

Since Mattel promised "more stock" or whatever to sort out those issues, they've been good about keeping orders.

The Teela just has her snake headdress and a different (?) staff. Oh, it technically has a new head with the gold like, skull cap. I guess it's meant to be the original toy?

Well, I put in my pre-orders for the MOTU wave 2 set of 5 and the Heroes wave 3 set of 5 from BBTS. Lets see if they get them in before my local Walmarts (so far I have yet to see Heroes wave 1 with Dutch and Predator).

I also put in pre-orders from Entertainment Earth for the Battle Cat vs Roton and the Panthor at Point Dread sets:

Mega Construx Masters of the Universe Battle Cat Vs. Roton Playset - Entertainment Earth

Mega Construx Masters of the Universe Panthor at Point Dread Playset - Entertainment Earth

Now I play the waiting game to see if Walmart or EE gets them in first.

I finally got some type of ATV thing I liked it's slightly based on the ATV recon instructions.

    The astronauts are for show

I set up my Skynet forces too

Here's hoping the Predator is clear at least. I understand wanting to have Claptrap with the Psycho but I don't k ow that Claptrap was such a massive seller that folks couldn't just pick up the original right now.

EE.com also has the GoT sets up.
