True, but to be fair, they've only ever previewed the other characters as statues with accessories, so I'm not surprised that Gadget remains the only posable figure.
I'm pretty happy with what I see, I don't really think the others need to be action figures and giving them the swap out parts helps enough. Gadget looks terrific, I'm thinking about the DX set. Will have to see the buying options, Bluefin is distributing this apparently.
Maybe not much with Quimby, but Penny and Brain do a lot of sneaking and hiding around from MAD agents so the least they could is giving them articulation to reflect that instead of just standing.
He looks swell...but that’s a lot of coin for a figure that size. Well, I guess you could extend everything and double his height...lol...but still. If I were to spend that kind of money for the Inspector, I’d likely just opt for the vintage one I’ve always wanted. More expensive, sure, but maybe a little more psychologically satisfying. Edit: I’m a fucktard. The Blitzway site wasn’t loading pics, so, I thought the DX set only includes the Inspector. I just saw all the listings on BBTS, and now I see the the DX set includes EVERYBODY and the Inspector by himself is “only” $90. That’s still a chunk for one figure that size...but he does look neat and comes with a ton of shit. $90 is certainly more reasonable. But I maintain that $50 for a 5” Quimby figurine is a pretty hard kick to the nuts...the rest of those statues are a no-go as well.
I'd be up for a transforming Gadgetmobile and MADmobile. I have the MADmobile that came out during the 80's and its really good.
With regards to the original Claw, his face was only revealed in a console game and the vintage toy - which they placed a sticker on the packaging to conceal the face. Yeah...I would have settled for 5POA for Penny and the crew, and pony up the cash.
Loved Inspector Gadget in the old glory 80s days! Indeed this is a lot of money for nostalgy, I only preorder the Inspector Gadget. Hope to see transforming Gadgetmobile and MADmobile.
Finally got him in. Bigger and more articulated than I thought. There's some heft to him, even without his attachments. Not sure if there's diecast on him. Great updated version of Inspector Gadget. No regrets. I didn't bother getting the other figures from this set as they are statues.
Nice, I didn't pick anything up yet. I am interested in the whole set even though they're statues. At least they have some swap out stuff.
If Penny and Brain had had articulation like Gadget, it wouldn't have been a no brainer for me. I wonder why they went that route.
How are the joints? I saw he was available the other day and it reminded me of this thread. He looks great!
Head has movement at base of the head and base of the neck. Pretty good left, right, back, forth and side to side. Shoulders are on ball joint with disk and hinge with upper bicep swivel. Correction.. no upper bicep rotation. Rotation is above the elbow. The elbows have a soft ratchet. Wrists are on a ball joint with a small Mushroom pegs for the extra hands. Waist seems to have a ball joint so he can turn, bend side to side. Hips seems to have a hinge/disk and upper thigh rotation. Knees are single jointed but bends more than 90 degrees. The ankles have movement up and down with a rocker.
