    Yeah honestly I forgot about the hooks. I see so mamy attempts to recreate the axe, shield, handheld sword, and DOTM cannon from fans and upgrade kits (SS imcluded) that I forgot Prime had hooks.

    And to add to my original post, I am pretty sure HasTak only included the second sword because they knew fans would want to recreate that “I’ll take you all on” pose. The matrix being inside him was more DOTM Prime and come on, will HasTak really release a MP Optimus WITHOUT the matrix?

    I don't know if we'll ever get official confirmation, but Tfwiki seems to suggest he is:

    While the films' continuity is such a mess and given how much of a thoughtless clusterfuck the Last Knight's dialogue was in the first place it wouldn't be surprising if Sam was said to be alive in the next movie had the reboot not happened... but yeah. Taking Last Knight at face value, the most obvious interpretation is that Sam is dead.
