Today's reveal is an Amplified kit for Imperialdramon from Adventure 02, no price or date.
    frsa_digimon_web.jpg

Tomorrow's reveal is for Dynamic Characters, which so far has all consisted of various super robots, mostly in the HG line; so those are likely to be discussed in a different thread.

Start with a red and purple, just add white until it's right. I'm looking ahead to an Ultraman in a "burning pink" silver and am already considering the colors I'll need to mix too.

Edit: I checked out Dengeki's page and while this week's reveals are mostly for plans in development they are adding previews for the kits that are close to release. Earlier this week they had the Ace Suit -ACTION type- and today they've got the box and finished Evil Tiga preview.
    「新ULTRAMAN SUIT PROJECT」に闇の巨人・イーヴィルティガが降臨!その性能を最終確認せよ!!

I'm honestly hoping tomorrow's previews will include more than the INFINITISM, but I'm really excited they're continuing into the Getter series. With a title for "Dynamic characters" you would think it will include more Figure Rise kits from different anime and sentai series, 30 Minute Mission, or maybe even Star Wars kits. We'll just have to wait and see but the main attraction for this event is Friday. GUNPLA DAY!

Preeeetty sure Bandai's Star Wars kits are dead. All they do is pump out redecoes and light retools, and even those have come to a crawl. And they never even capitalized on any easy money ones like trooper variants, Clone or otherwise, just pointless droid after droid.

Too bad they can't figure out a way to do a Figure Rise Mechanics "Child and Crib" set.

They kind of shot themselves into Oblivion with too many Millennium Falcons, and Astromech variants but at least they dared to make the Perfect Grade and a large scale Star Destroyer. they've kind of run out of ships in a large enough size and affordable scale, outside of going to the expanded universe in the television series. I don't want to think so but I suppose you're right. At the same time I want to believe that their hands are tied by Disney not allowing them to preview any upcoming products because they don't want to give away spoiler material. On the other hand suppose they're not fully up to the task of character models that AREN'T helmet wearing. They tried the 'printed faces' for Luke, Han, and even Vader, but for the most part that seems like that's all for now, and everything else is just being reissued. I wouldn't mind seeing one last figure kit in the form of Mando.

The Ace and Evil Tiga came out on the 23rd, those are just the regular articles they make for recently released items.

The logo for "Dynamic Characters" is the Mazinger's chest so I think they're pretty committed to super robots.

Imperialdramon could be neat. Though as a bugman nerd, I have more affinity for Stingmon's evolutions...

More specifically, Dynamic Pro/Nagai&Ishikawa's works. Looking for either another Getter or, dare I say, Jeeg or Gaiking in Infinitism. Or we could go out to left field and get something crazy like Figurise Devilman.

I figured they were being released soon, I just wasn't aware of HOW SOON... I'm a bit behind on the curve of releases these days.

Dalong's review of the Ultraman B-Suit -Action- is online. http://dalong.net/reviews/etc/frs52/frs52_p.htm

Three points of motion, stiff neck and there's a surprise addition of articulation:

They've changed the hinge on that armor panel to extend the ankle's range of motion.

Those two aside, the rest of the Gunpla Girls in model form are being included as Figure-Rise kits... They just couldn't give us Mika Akitaka MS Girls, could they?

This...is great! I have the first one and while the light up gimmick is cool, I want articulation. This set is a lot cheaper too so I think I'll bite again.

Ayame is specifically marked as being "Figure-Rise Standard Build Diver Ayame." Pretty clear where the direction of gunpla girls are going!

The mobility makes a big difference. What I find interesting is the Zero suit will be both Action type and LED compatible depending on a simple part swap (and making the LED an accessory add on like the Gunpla LED).
I'll also have the two types to see side by side. I should have my Limiter Release B Suit by Friday, and the Action type soon enough depending on when BBTS's shipment comes in.

Oh. i could have sworn Figure Rise Standard was mentioned on her box, so i had always assumed she was part of that line...

indeed. it was too bad i foolishly passed up the "LES MS GIRLS" Akitaka artbook
when i saw a copy at a local Comics/Collectables shop once about 20 years ago. been kicking myself for that since...

Okay, after two conflicting shipping updates, my Limiter Release has arrived!

    20200530_160047.jpg

Now for the fun part, "oh yeah, this is metallic coated , not injection." That means washing these off means using plain dish soap and no degreaser as I normally add into the rinse.

    20200530_170218.jpg

You can see the original white plastic underneath. I'm kind of surprised though this color looks more pink from looking at pictures online than in person. It looks more like a bright copper. Very nice shade. I'll have to get creative to mixing paint for the knuckles because Testors doesn't make a copper colored acrylic. I can figure something out otherwise I have enamel and just work more delicately when I paint the spots on the biceps that need it.

Continuing what I set out to do with painting where the kit substitutes decals, the red bands and straps.
Since the red parts are metallic injection, I started with some Steel, Guards Red, and a touch of Clear Red and Clear Orange to match the plastic's shine.

    20200531_003816.jpg

The advantage of acrylic is in case of any mistakes I can scratch off with my finger nails without taking up the copper coating.

Because I thought it would look better matching the metallic colors of the suit, I'm repainting all of the dark gray joint parts with a mix I call "Trans-Am" a metallic recipe of mine for "Trans Am Mode" Gunpla from 00. Here it is on my Sprukits Master Chief model I've been back to work on.

    20200530_203247.jpg

The fiber layer is that matte gray plastic originally. I'm painting it in a flat black and gunmetal mix.

I had to find out for myself what's the limit of what I can do to paint and detail this kit even with its metallic coating. I tried some panel accent and without using any thinner, it turned out nice.

    20200531_230338.jpg

I did try a little mr color thinner to help loosen some dried acrylic on another part and while I noticed some copper residue on my cotton point, it didn't take up any of it.

Now for something ai haven't installed in a kit lately, the Toku-type LED.. and without blacking out the insides of the chest, it's pretty INTENSE!

    20200531_232116.jpg

I will black it out from the inside so it won't bleed through the chest armor as much. For now, back to painting.

My Trans-Am mix looks really good with this armor's plastic, I may just use it for the next Ultra kits in their default colors.

    20200601_003836.jpg

Adding more red trim . I managed to save the paint I mixed last night in the paint pan, so I had some ready for a second night in a row.
    Now to mix some copper.

Oh, nice! That Future Gohan is gonna be inaccurate as hell, but the fact that we're getting one at all is pretty cool.

I'm hoping this is a hint that we'll get a Buuhan at some point.

    Now.... where is...

    THE GREAT!! SAIYAMAN!!??
    --
Finishing up what I started with painting the red straps and bands, and adding more color to other areas of the suit that normally wouldn't be painted.
I know the Suit's color pattern is most mapped according to the original Ultraman costume, but I thought it needed some more color. The straps for the shin guards stood out to me compared with the lower bands around the ankles that are red.

    20200602_001834.jpg

Same goes for the back ends of the forearm armor and the soles of the feet (not seen).

With all of this red work mostly done I can get back to finding a solution for the copper areas I need to paint which will also come in handy for masking nub marks.
Since I don't want to use enamel this week and don't feel like putting something off until I could mail order an alternative... because with so many shades of gunmetal, silver, steel, aluminum, jet exhaust, gold, and brass, Testors metallic colors in acrylic doesn't come in Copper...
My solution is mixing. Start with the base metallic color and then add a clear color as a modifier.

    20200601_231341.jpg

This about does it. Silver, Clear Orange, and a Clear Pink I made from Clear Red and Semi Gloss clearcoat. First test is the obvious for nub mark patching.

    20200601_232127.jpg
Oh Yeah, it works!! I might try making it differently using pure clear red instead of my pink blend. I only made enough to test the color tonight but this is one I may end up bottling for future use just so I can have a proper copper acrylic.

It looks pink while in suspension but dries dark.
*Disclaimer as always, all of my paints are Testors acrylic in Tamiya mixing jars*

The mix is one bottle of Testors Silver, and three (or so) pipetes of Clear Orange, Clear Pink, and one pipete of clear red.

    20200602_165234.jpg

The mix I made last night was the right idea, and adding red to it sharpens the color some more. Bottling a batch gives me a bright copper for other projects and this will allow me to finish working on the LR and use it to cover nub marks.

    20200602_171524.jpg

The center square of that runner plate is painted, the other parts are the pre-coated.
