DC is having it’s Memorial Day sale on Comixology. So if you somehow missed anything in the last big sale from a few weeks back, here you go again.

At least this time The Wild Storm volume 4 went on sale. About time dammit.

I’ll be able to cross a few things off, thinking the remainder of New 52 Aquaman and volumes 8 & 9 of the current Detective Comics(before 1000).

Before Morrison came on board, GL: Earth One was my favorite thing done with Green Lantern since Johns left the book so looking forward to it.

So from the mid-2000's up until 2008 I was kind of on a weekly comic binge and heavy into DC, then by 2009 I was pretty much just reading trades every now and then.

I haven't read too much about New52 and Rebirth. Was the Morrison run on Batman and Sinestro Corps War retconned out?

Morrison wasn't done on time before the New 52 reboot happened, so his run continued through a kind of running change. Some characters who no longer existed post reboot suddenly disappeared from the story, and some characters who were altered in the reboot suddenly appear changed in Morrison's ongoing story. So if someone is reading his run for the first time today in tpb form, I'm sure it's a bit awkward or confusing. Especially since as soon as his run did end, some of the pre-reboot parts of his run seem maybe not to have happened.

But all of Johns' GL run seems to have come through the reboot more or less intact, I think. At the time of the New 52 launch, Batman and GL were the two franchises that were doing the best, so they received the least changes.

I haven't been following the 80th anniversary stuff much, but I'll have to try to seek this one out. Johns' GL run was one of my all-time favorites.

More interested in this since I think the multiple GLs would better serve the short story format of these anniversary issues than the previous ones have.

This is all true. It’s also an example of stupid the new 52 launch was. I remember thinking it sabotaged the thing out of the gate. If you’re committed to a universal reboot, then do it.

Marvel hasn’t rebooted but they’re not exactly innocent on this either. The run up to Secret Wars, the major publishing initiative for the line has problems too.

Man, I haven’t posted in ages. I just wanted to ask how people are handling Bendis' DC titles because I’m noticing a weird dissonance where the internet critics are mostly fine with Legion of Super-Heroes, but user ratings are a whole other story.

I'm not sure what's everyone's opinion of her, but it'd kick a lot of ass if Jinny Hex met her ancestor Jonah Hex.

...But I guess Bendis doesn't take too kindly to people playing with his toys when he's around, does he? I ask because I notice that people's opinions of the characters he creates changes for the better when he's not writing them.
